Economy Wood Case - Offset Solidbody Electric Guitar Case Review

Good economy case for offset guitars

First, Sweetwater was great (as always). I had an issue with the first case and they overnighted me a replacement while I returned the defective one. Second, buy direct from Sweetwater if you can -- I purchased through Ebay and learned it's more efficient to buy straight from Sweetwater. The case is fine for my needs. I don't play out much and just need good protection from… read more my kids and dogs when my guitar is not on my lap or on the wall hook, and I don't like gig bags. It is not a very robust case, but as the only cheap option I could find for an offset guitar (Dunable R2, similar to Gibson RD or Explorer) I am happy with it and would probably buy it again. If you travel with your guitar or play out frequently, it's probably worth spending a bit more for a more robust case. Another plus for me is it is very thin so it fits easily into my cramped 10-case guitar rack.

Great case for Danelectro 12-string electric and fast shipping

I've been looking for a case to fit my Danelectro 12-String electric for many days. I love Gator cases and my guitar fits perfect! It was shipped to me so fast and Sweetwater's customer service is beyond compare.

Great case for the money

The Gator Economy Offset Solidbody case is a good case and a great deal, considering the cost. Actually, it is a far better case than what I expected. It has a large lower bout which is actually slightly larger than described. I purchased it for my rather large, and oddly shaped, 1990 BC Rich Red Acrylic Mockingbird. I usually purchase higher priced cases than this one but, Matt Zuleger, my Sales Engineer, said I would be satisfied and he was correct. The interior is padded, although it is not heavily padded, but when closed it holds the guitar nicely and it does not "flop" around. And the case has a very large storage compartment. It also cradles the neck perfectly, which is important to me. The Tolex covering and the locking latches are good quality and it has protective metal feet on the sides by the hinges. It also has feet on the bottom, which even my expensive cases don't have. Thanks Matt, good call.

Too cheap and ineffective -- get something better

Bought this for my $1000 Fender Jaguar. Thought it would be at least "adequate", but the foam bar that is supposed to hold the neck in place is too soft and has no strap, so when you bump the case on the ground, the neck slips out of its groove and the headstock starts banging on the side of the case. Pretty much a complete fail as far as what a case is supposed to do to protect… read more your guitar. Guess I shouldn't have tried to scrimp a few bucks.
