It's a keeper BUT...

I bought this for the Vibrato function because I wanted a Vibrato pedal. I have a JC120 that I use at home for Vibrato but sometimes I go with a smaller amp. I have a few pedals that do chorus (and the JC120) and I will use those for chorus. What sold me on this particular Vibrato was the envelope function. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work on my Tele on clean settings. read more After doing some research I found out it needs higher gain pickups or gain pedals to trigger it correctly. Uggghhhh. I use vintage style pickups almost exclusively and I play clean A LOT so that's a bummer. With that said, the Vibrato does sound very nice and I will use it and be happy with that aspect of it. I have no intention of returning it but I can see me trading it for other options down the road. If the envelope function is important to you, Id suggest doing some research before buying. If it's not important, you can get nice Vibrato from it. The chorus was OK but I like almost all of my other options for chorus better.

Bass review- Almost perfect, could use some adjustment

I got this pedal 2 weeks ago to compare to my EHX bass Clone. As a stand-alone chorus, this pedal has a greater depth range than the bass clone to my ear, and has tons of low end. I actually have to turn the tone knob almost all the way up to get "unity tone" to my regular bass tone. It is a very warm chorus. The vibrato also sounds awesome, and the wave warping sounds amazing on read more this setting with a fast rate. It easily kicked my bass clone off the board. My 2 complaints are the knobs are too close to each other. It's hard to adjust without bumping other ones. The controls are stiff, so that helps, but still hard to turn and I even have slender fingers. My other complaint is the envelope feature. I couldn't get this to work on my bass unless I used a dirt pedal in front of it, and played extremely hard and above the 12th fret. I emailed EHX about it, and they said that feature was designed for guitar and needs high output pickups to work correctly. My active basses trigger it better, but it's not perfect. I'd love for EHX to publish a mod for this to adjust it to work on bass. Or even an internal switch to switch between guitar and bass. Overall, it's an awesome chorus/vibrato for bass, but the envelope feature was a what's keeping me from calling it a perfect pedal.

Very Cool

This pedal sounds really good and is well made. I would definitely buy again.

Tons of sounds, from wacky to subtle analog goodness

This is a pretty cool analog chorus/vibrato. Having the volume knob alleviates the common chorus pedal volume problem for different rigs. I've had some in the past that either boosted or dropped volume. Envelope controlled mode is pretty cool and you can get that faux shoegaze Jazzmaster trem thing going. There's some choppy vibrato almost tremolo synthy sounds to be found in read more this pedal, yet can dial it back and get a nice classic lush chorus sound or amp like vibrato. All ina nice analog package. Tone knob has a nice sweep from warm and dark to ice pick, always a plus on any pedal. The eddy is basically if a Eqd aqueduct, walrus Julia and small clone decided to have a baby and this is what pops out. Well worth the $ price of entry. My only gripe is while it's nice having all those knobs, is they are so close together, can be a littleCumbersome to fiddle with, but it's somethingI can totally live with to have all those options. Really loving this pedal. Ehx constantly surprises.
