Best strings for Acoustic-Electric Guitars!
I am a professional songwriter so I play lots of songs and nothing comes close to my D'addario EJ-11 or EJ-16 strings!
Great Strings! That compliment the Phosphor Bronze!
I ordered these to try, I have always been a phosphor bronze guy but I wanted to try these. Needless to say I love em! They are brighter than phosphor bronze they sound amazing with a slide and for finger style. Clarity is a must for me and they are like a bell, they sing and stay in tune! The project like crazy especially when you really dig in to the guitar! They have lots of… read more punch too they sound great for blues, country, or acoustic rock. They sound great on jangly Tom Petty songs. Try em you'll be glad you did !
Really like D'addario ej11 strings
Having tried an embarassing assortment of light gauge acoustic guitar strings (virtually every material and brand on the market) I keep coming back to D'Addario's EJ11 80 20 bronze, one of the most basic strings on the market. For me, these strings have the perfect feel. I actually can tell a significant difference in their slightly lower tension over other popular brands. Initially,… read more they are too bright (what new strings aren't?), but give them a few days of regular playing, and they settle into a satisfying and straightforward sound that reminds me of Monel or nickle-plated strings, but with more personality. Obviously, I've given this too much thought, but strings really do matter when you get the right guitar.
Great Strings
I've used the D'Addario strings for decades and always found them to be great with lively sound, long life, and a decent price point.I also like the Phosphor Bronze D'Addarios, and find that on some guitars, that warmer sound is preferable, but on some others the 80/20s seem to sound best. Both are great strings and you can't go wrong with either.
Crispy D'Addario
The Sweetwater description for these strings is spot on perfect. "Crisp, Bold and Projecting tone". That really says it all. Give them a try. I wanted to keep the same gauge all the way through of the strings that came factory standard on my Taylor but didn't want to pay the inflated price. I never liked the factory strings anyway. They were dull even when brand new. The… read more D'Addario EJ 11 Set fit the bill. When I read the description I thought it would be so nice if it's true. It is. I bought 2 packs to try them out but I will be getting a case of them very soon. I'm so happy that I found these strings. I used D'Addario strings as a kid and have re-discoverd them. The "Brass" EJ11's are new to me though. Glad to be back!
