Jazz? Try Heavy Metal!
Never mind the term "Jazz" on the label, this set is a dream for drop and detuned tunings for metal rhythm guitar. Heavy gauge for heavy riffing. This is perfect for Slipknot type tunings.
Heavy strings=stable tuning=awesome
I usually play in drop C# and occasionally in drop C. Had been using the jazz light (12-52) strings for years, and probably still will on some guitars, but these strings are awesome and I'm loving the change so far. The tuning is super stable. I notice myself tuning up about half as much as I did. They let me dig in a little harder without everything sounding a bit sharp. They don't… read more feel or sound that much different, but my guitars definitely noticed the difference. Had to readjust the truss rod, file the nut grooves a bit, and barely raise the action. I always recommend D'addario, regardless of tuning or gauge, and will definitely recommend this gauge for players I know playing in this tuning range. I'm thinking of getting 10+ sets of these and the 12-52s since you get a little price break when buying multiple sets. Thanks to Sweetwater and my rep Ben for the always perfect service!
