D'Addario EJ 26 Ph Br
I like these. They're a great value, sound good and I always stay over-stocked on the 3 packs. One set lasts me about 2 months in fall/winter and about 2 to 3 weeks (spring/summer) high humidity and heavy playing per guitar. I've never had one break but I change them pretty often at the first sign of "kinks" over the 5/7/9/12 frets or rust spots but I have wet hands and hold chords… read more and notes pretty aggressive-like. Never tried Elixirs and i sparingly use Martin lifespans but for the price these are my everyday go to strings.
Good Sound For Inexpensive Strings
Tried out several brands of strings on my import Martin Acoustic, none were sounding exactly inspiring. I put a set of the EJ26 .011-.052 custom light gauge's on and the guitar came to life, sounds like it's supposed to. The D'Addario 3-pack is a really good deal from Sweetwater;saved me some $$ plus I have extra strings.
D-Addario Strings Make the Gig
I play a Taylor 110 Acoustic with a Fishman Pick Humbucking pickup and Preamp every Friday for 3 45 minute sets at a local outdoor venue that can get pretty hot outside even in the shade so I know I am putting my guitar to work. The EJ26-3D Phospher Bronze strings I used have not let me down- not even one broken string! I do not have to change them for two gigs so a total of 6… read more sets plus rehearsal/jams in between. I tend to play hard as I am the only instrument in a trio with a vocalist and drummer. I playing bass lines, lead lines and chords mostly with a pick doing a variety of Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock and Funk. I'm giving a big thumbs up on these!
