Sound wonderful on a dreadnought
I put a set of these on a very affordable acoustic guitar and it turned it into a chime-y, inspirational instrument. Years ago, I worked in a jingle house and remember the head of it introduced me to Nashville tuning. I hadn't played around with it since then, so for a few bucks, there was little risk for a little experimentation. I can attest that when you start playing some… read more of your old standby guitar chords on this. you will be moved to use this tuning when you're writing your next song(s). Double your standard-tuning tracks on a recording, pan them and you'll love the full sound. Intonation is excellent and the sound is very well balanced. I highly recommend having a Nashville-tuned guitar always at your fingertips, and if my experience is typical, you don't need a special guitar to get a great sound. (The one I used was a new Chinese-made dreadnought that costs around $150).
D’addario nashvile tune strings
d'addario has become my favorite strings. the "nashville tune" style was suggested by a friend a few months back. yesterday, i put them on a 000-15 and if you like a classic bluegrass/gospel song, the sound is fantastic. sweetwater prices are great. (one note: because the strings are a very light style, take care to keep the others "quiet" during tuning.) have fun pickin' mark… read more (just an ol' shade tree player)
Other brand broke, these don't
Another brand of Nashville strings broke after only a few sessions. These have never broken and sound just great!
I'm just glad that they make them!
If you own a Nashville tuned guitar, then this is the set for you. I just purchased recently a Wechter Nashville tuned guitar from Sweetwater and these strings are the ondes that Wechter recommends, altough I suppose that other brands might suffice. Anyway, it's good to know that the strings that came on it are available when I need them. If you'r converting your own six string… read more acoustic guitar to Nashville tuning, then these would also be the ones you might want. If you're big into Nasville tuned guitar, break down and get the Wechter one since they are purpose-built for Nasville tuning, but, like I said, if you must convert your existing, this will do it!
