Wow!! My dr100 arrived about an hour ago after taking it out of the box I noticed that the strings were wound beautifuly and that the side of the frets where even with the side of the finger board, after tuning up I was able to play a major bar chord on the 5th fret I noticed also that the strings are light 12-53 perfect all the way around and yes I would definitely recommend this… read more to a friend
Impressive Sound and Quality Build
I bought this guitar because I wanted to be able to play songs that sound better on acoustic. At first, I was dissatisfied with it because the guitar itself felt light and hollow. However, this is because I've only been playing a solid-body electric. Once I began playing it over a few days my whole opinion changed and now I love it. I love the tone because it is perfect for the… read more soft rock songs that I want to play. One last thought is that I couldn't tune it properly with my current clip-on, so I decided to buy a TC Electronic UniTune clip-on Chromatic Tuner. This made all the difference in the world; my guitar is now tuned perfectly. Bottom line, great sounding guitar with a great tuner makes playing and learning so much fun. Sweetwater did it again, they shipped my guitar and tuner quickly and it was well packaged to prevent any damage in transit.
Epiphone DR-100
Cool vintage looks.Nice tonal quality from low to high. Nice intonation and playability. Sounds as good as my Texan. A must have for any guitarist. "Keep On Rockin"!!
Bright tone, Great classic sunburst finish, is a great player, junk tuners, sides are not
It has a bright tone but still very pleasing, Thin neck and smooth frets make it very playable. Installed electronics and had to change the tuning machines after the D string tuner striped its gears. When installing the electronics I noticed the sides ARE NOT Mahogany but a plastic laminate. The outer layer is a thin plastic with wood grain printed on it. The Center layer, and… read more thickest, is same plastic as the binding with a thin veneer of some mystery wood. Once I got the action dialed in it became an inexpensive great sounding and looking that also plays great.
Great for the price!
Was looking for an entry level acoustic and this fit the bill. Honestly it has exceeded my expectations like the rest of my Epiphone electrics. Would buy again.
Great guitar
I bought the ebony DR100 May 2017, and it's been a great guitar.. not had any problem with it at all! It seems like it sounds better the older it gets! You won't go wrong with it! That it in the upper left.
High School Guitar Class
I purchased 25 of these for my high school beginning guitar class. They are well made, sturdy, hold their tuning, and are comfortable to play. I am very happy with the consistency in quality from guitar to guitar. And as always the customer service working with Sweetwater was top notch.
Awesome Guitar!
Look, I have played guitar over 50 years. I bought this to have a guitar to play around the camp fire or just drag around. I had Sweetwater set it up before it shipped. Got this thing and was completely blown away! With the set up it plays better than my Ovation Elite. Great guitar and great sound not to mention the service from Greg and the guys at Sweetwater. Perfect set up,… read more awesome customer service. For the price, there is no way you can go wrong with this guitar - just make sure you get it set up properly!!!
Great Guitar For The Price
This is a great guitar for the price. It's got pretty good tone and looks great as well. Definitely a good purchase.
Excellent.
I can't actually believe how much this guitar costs. I could tell a musician friend of mine that it costs $600 and they would totally believe me (do NOT tell Epiphone I said this!). The one single thing that doesn't match the rest of the build is the pick guard which I am changing to a super nice one then I can start lying to folks about the cost of this. Looks great. Build is great.… read more Playability is great. Sounds GREAT. THE END.
Epiphone for the product Sweetwater for the service
While researching guitar Sweetwaters name kept coming up for supply and service. Checked websight for selection and price and gave them a call. Got a hold of Jimmy Hart he was ready and able to make sure I was getting what I wanted he even had time to listen to my concerns for after the sale the (what ifs) guitar arrived ahead of schedule and packed professionally (not a scratch)… read more only thing left wads a quick tune and learn how to play. Great guitar for a great price
I was looking for a second acoustic, and this one just kept "singing" to me. I finally pulled the trigger and got it at a great price from Sweetwater. Great customer service as well, as they kept me in the loop at all stages of the purchase. I recommend both guitar and the company.
Amazing!!!
Very nice guitar to play, especially within the price range. It seems like it should be more expensive than it is. Obviously it is not a top of the line guitar, but it holds its tune pretty well for a lower end beginner guitar. I definitely recommend this guitar as a very affordable option when buying a great brand at a great price. The only thing I find disappointing, is the output… read more of the note sounds. I'm happy
First time guitar player. My son recommended the DR-100 and so far I'm enjoying it. Beautiful guitar! I am also impressed with the great customer service. Eric called the day after I ordered it and was very helpful and encouraging. He assigned my account to Adam who is also who my son has talked to before. Also the candy was a nice touch! Happy strumming, Rhonda
Nice guitar
I am a little different with my review. I have been playing acoustic guitar for over 50 years. I have three other guitars. All high end. A Martin, A hand made Classical and a Guitalele. I live in a Senior Highrise that is not Humidity Controlled. With 10-15% readings in my apartment during the winter my guitars stay in a Humidity controlled space during the wintertime. Because they… read more are in storage that leaves me with no guitar to play during the winter months. One of my neighbors has been dealing with Sweetwater for over a decade. He said why don't you buy a laminated top guitar to play during the winter. I am familiar with and have owned and played an Epiphone Hummingbird pro guitar in the past so I knew I would be going with an inexpensive Epiphone guitar. I did the three easy payments option and bought the DR-100 Ebony. It arrived in perfect condition with the exception of a broken B string. I took it to my music store and they put on a set of strings and tweaked the truss rod while they were at it. I said all that to say this. It is an amazing guitar for the money and just what I needed for Minnesota's dry winter months. I still humidify it but I don't have to worry about a top cracking. I added the truss rod cover shown in the picture and it really sets the guitar apart from others.
