Worth every penny

Buy this guitar as soon as Sweetwater can provide one. My sales representative, TJ Jackson, recommended I pay extra for the Sweetwater setup. Right out of the case the guitar played beautifully. Up and down the neck a pleasure. I've played a Gibson SJ200 and there is not five times greater difference in the two guitars. I cannot recommend this guitar highly enough and I've read more been at this for over 35 years.

Stunned by the quality of workmanship

The Inspired By Gibson Epiphone J200 I received has the type of workmanship you would expect from a high end USA made acoustic. The bracing is clean and well done the fret work was perfect as was the action there was no signs of excess glue. The finish on the J200 is as nice as I have seen. I'm a little fussy about how the high end sounds but no problems with the J200 the high end read more is crystal clear no sharp notes. The bass is deep and the J200's overall sound is balanced. The neck smooth and fast but not to thin fits my size large hands very good the tuners are tight and it stays in tune. I like the vintage color of the J200 also. Having played for 57 years now I've seen many high priced guitars the IBG Epiphone J200 puts to shame.

You couldn't buy this guitar from me

I have owned this guitar for 9 months. I took it to a master luthier after I bought it who said he could not improve on the setup. He actually wanted to buy it from me. No deal. I don't know if they are all like mine, but you would have pay me enough to be able to afford the real thing from Gibson plus some.

I have owned too many guitars to count for the last 52 years of playing. This definitely qualifies as one of the best. Build quality is excellent and arrived set up perfectly. I can't say that about many of the instruments I have owned. Sounds really good with plenty of volume and very distinct sound in a mix. I did install John Pearse bluegrass strings for my listening pleasure. read more This is a lifetime keeper for me because it checks all the boxes that I look for in a guitar and it sits on the knee very comfortably. It is the best value that I have found in a new guitar.

I had read good things about the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson guitars and I was not disappointed when I got mine. Everything about it is First class from the quality craftsmanship to playability and sound. My J-200 is a stunner. The action was set right, no sharp fret ends, the neck is smooth and feels good in the hand and the finish is beautiful. Quality appointments such as read more real bone for the nut and saddle and Mother of Pearl for inlays. To my ear the guitar has a robust sound with great sustain, deep bass balanced well with the highs. Stays in tune really well. The Epiphone J-200 is at a great price point for a quality made all solid wood guitar. And it's fun to play!

New Era Epiphone J-200

This new era Epiphone J-200 is an absolutely AWESOME guitar. For an ALL SOLID WOOD guitar you cannot beat the price and quality of this music machine. Epiphone has really stepped up their game on this guitar. As an added bonus you also recieve FISHMAN ELECTRONICS to the mix in this already GREAT product. I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment with this guitar and will read more definitely be an asset to my guitar collection. My only gripe with this guitar you have to purchase a guitar case separately. Epiphone you knocked this one out of the ballpark that's for sure, GREAT job!!

Awesome Guitar

I ordered this guitar early March, and I just got it. I want to thank Sweetwater' representative, Jack, who called me each month to give me updates about the guitar (and case too). I will make it short: overall, the guitar is awesome. Great sound, great feel, beautiful paint. Epiphone went up with their quality on this one. It's definitely worth the money, and it plays better read more than some expensive guitars I was playing before. The only cons are few finish checks that I notice looking at it closely. You wouldn't see from distance. The fret wires ends are smooth, but some of the frets are not polished and you can feel the *scratchy* noise.

Great quality at a good price!

I purchased the aged natural gloss EJ200, and love this big bodied beauty! It plays well, and sounds remarkable too! The neck feels comfortable, the fretting and crown inlays are easy on the fingers and a joy to look at! I only wish it would have come with a soft case/gig bag, but it was superbly packed by Sweetwater and well protected! Hats off to Epiphone/Gibson Musical Instruments!

Can't beat it for this price

Owned and played many guitars for 60 years. Not a pro, but have played vintage Gibsons. You will have a hard time finding a better playing and sounding guitar with a solid top for this price if it's like mine. After playing it for a few times in a retail store, sold my Martin and got this (there, sorry Sweetwater). Got home, put good strings on it, wow! Very happy.

Really Solid Guitar

I'm very surprised by the fit and finish of this guitar. The sound is amazing and the neck is incredibly comfortable. As someone with shorter fingers, the neck is really easy to reach across for bar chords or to hang my thumb over to grab the low E string for open chords. I'll update this review after I've spent some time with it plugged in and get some Fishman electronics experience read more under my belt. Based on initial quality and sound, I'm giving this a 5 star review.
