Very Nice Decent Sounding Guitar

This guitar is very nice. I would estimate the box depth at about that of a 000 guitar. It will need a setup, most all these inexpensive guitars have a very high string action height from the manufacturer. I replaced the tuners almost immediately, they are very cheaply made and because of them the guitar didn't hold tune well. So do or get a good setup done, replace the tuners and read more you'll have a very nice guitar. My first Epiphone, but I would buy again.

It’s ok, really

The old saying "for the money it's worth it " applies in this case. I received the guitar in excellent shape from Sweetwater (as usual). The Starling theme is innovative actually, it kinda puts the owner into the Dove,Hummingbird vibe, (Epiphone style). I'm not saying at all that the Starlings is even close to a Dove etc…BUT…if you are watching your cash because of inflation, read more this could be your "Bird of paradise" , no pun intended. I honestly could not criticize the quality, I had fun adding an in hole pickup, lowered the action, adjusted a few things here and there and ended up with a really neat guitar for a family member. Another option could be an under saddle pickup. Tuners are the typical cheap style and should be the first thing to replace, but not necessary, everything else is good. If taken care of, after a good setup, you could have a great guitar to pass around the family or friends to learn how to play guitar for years to come. Cheaper guitars, years and years ago, were nothing but junk. Now, affordable guitars are so so much better quality. The guitar industry should do better economically cause people will move forward buying more appointed guitars in the future. Alternatively, quitting guitar all together because of buying junk like the old days. In summary, in my case, this is a good guitar for the money and cool looking too.

Flawless

Received my Epiphone Starling today from Sweetwater. I unboxed the guitar and checked it over carefully. I could't find one thing wrong with the guitar from its wine finish to its finished frets. I placed it in tune and played for about an hour. It stayed in tune the entire time. Unusual with new original strings mounted on a guitar. They usually have to stretch. The sound is very read more good but don't expect the sound to be as good as a super expensive guitar. It never will be that good. That said, the Epiphone Starling is a beginner guitar that even very experienced players will find delight in playing. I recommend this guitar with two thumbs up.

I have had this guitar for a couple days and already can't keep my mind off of playing it! The ONLY thing beginner about this guitar is the price! Sure you might get a few fit n finish issues, but for under $... its near impossible not to have any. This thing sounds great, really deep and full sound, beautiful craftsmanship, great quality, and even the fit n finish is exceptional! read more I would have given it 5 stars however, I can't say for sure if it is the best but I can say it WILL hold its own any day of the week and twice on Sunday!! Thanks again Sweetwater and Mitch Dazey for such GREAT service!!
