This is a keeper

I've had mine for almost a year now. The LTD SC-607B was my favorite feeling 7 string guitar but I couldn't stand the stupid pickup placement (bridge and middle only), or that they were both EMG 81-7s, which I hated (I know the current models use Fishmans). I sold mine years ago for these reasons, and although I've had a number of sevens since then none were quite the same. I figured read more it was worth the extra cost for a MIJ ESP when I saw this one with these specs. This guitar checks all the boxes. 27 inch scale, ebony board, Gotoh locking tuners, reverse headstock, Hipshot bridge. I would have preferred passive pickups if I'm being honest, but the Fishmans are growing on me. Overall, it is all of the things I loved about the 607B but with actual usable pickup options. And the paint job is a real trip!

First of all, I have to say thanks to Derrick for keeping up with me and putting up with my annoying calls every other week. I have a couple of other ESP 7 strings but they are standard scale floyd rose models, and I needed something that I can change tunings on the fly without have to go through an entire process to make it sound and play great every time I wanted to learn or write read more songs in a different tuning. The 27 inch scale is perfect to play on and the neck is thin enough to shred but doesn't feel wide or flat like ibanez models which I don't like as much. If you're used to shorter scale lengths you might have to stretch your fingers just a little more than what you're used to but that's ok, you'll get used to it. The tone is amazing and the fishman fluence pickups are a perfect match, my ONLY complaint about the guitar, however, is that it has two pots, volume and tone as per usual, but only one push/pull out for voice switching. ESP would be much wiser if they utilized TWO Push/pull pots for voice switching AND coil tap both, but that's a minor gripe and something I know how to do on my own. The finish is amazing and I love the color, I wish ESP puts out more sparkle finishes going forward, this one is a beauty. If you plan on doing lower tunings I recommend buying an 8 string set.

Amazing Guitar

I love this guitar. I can not put it down. These EII guitars just outperform other brands for the money hands down. The Fishmans are the perfect pickups for this guitar as well. They really compliment the brilliant purple sparkle look with their excellent sound quality. You will love this thing!
