Unforgiving harmonic complexity
When I finally bought my first Ibanez in 2006, I bought a Jem 7Vwh Besides becoming my favorite guitar of all time, I was perplexed by the "sing" and complexity of the bridge pickup. Hold a note and it just bleeds, with something going on in the background that just raises the goosebumps. Harmonic content galore, but yet such clarity. These days, I have an EVOLUTION bridge… read more in all of my gigging Japanese Jems, and my amps are Soldano SLO 100's (Mike era, not MK II). This is my sound. The SLO itself is very unforgiving for sloppy playing, but glorious in every way. Smooth overdrive dripping with sustain and note definition. Unearthly. The evolution is also VERY unforgiving, but tame it and the overtones and singing qualities are obsessive. If you have a clean technique and play a lot of leads, you have to at least try this pickup. I never looked back.
Screaming pickup!
I put this pickup in place of the standard bridge pickup that came with the guitar ( Ibanez RG120), and boy was it a night and day difference! Harmonics of any kind are a breeze with this pickup. Very nice sound. But beware lead guitar players. This will pick up your every error if not played clean or fluently.
Screamer bridge pickup
I put the Evo pickup in the bridge of my 1991 Charvel pro soloist (HSS) style guitar with bolt on neck. Do the Evolution!!
There is nothing to say except this pup is awesome! . . . OK, there are a couple of things . . . 1) This pickup sounds 10 times better than the original pickup that it replaced. 2) Not only does this pickup have more "OooommmPphhhhhhh," It is also more articulate. If you want a guitar that gently weeps, buy an Evo. Your guitar will thank you!
