Bulk strings
No problem with purchasing strings in bulk to save money. But SweetWater pricing needs to be more competitive- other locations were out at this particular time.
Great strings and a very good cost
I got 9 guitars to restring. Everything from Ovations to Strat and Les's. It gets little pricy to when doing all of them, so why not try the 25 pack for some cost savings. I mostly play with a "light set" anyway, but what surprise me was how good they sounded on the Ovation acoustic. Normally, I would start at 10 and go up on the acoustics. This was a very pleasant surprise.… read more They sound great. Highly recommend the strings.
What’s up with D’Addario
I have been using these strings since the 1980"s! What is D"Addario doing????? These strings are an average shell of what used to be great strings! I first noticed a change when the packaging changed awhile back.... quality changed, even though company told me that they had changed "nothing"??? Well, i"ve been playing guitar & other string instruments for 50yrs, & my hands & ears… read more are very tuned in to even sutle changes. And the last couple of batches I have gotten are even worse! Bad balance from string to string, no body, & very short lifespan! I think the company is cutting corners to keep their string price down? Well, they have those NY strings which are expensive (& I don"t like those either). I would rather pay more money for the "original" D"Addario XL strings!!!!!! This new version is NOWHERE near as good!!
Exl 120 nickel wound strings
I have been using these strings for around 20 years. They are a great value and I have not found a better string for the money. I am not saying there are not better strings but they will cost most. I will continue to use these strings. I have used other brands and some are better but plan on paying 40 to 60 percent more.
Great buy
As a working musician and a guitar collector I go through a lot of strings, this is the best way to purchase several sets at once. The box keeps the strings organized and fresh, and if you don't change strings as often just store the entire box in a large Tupperware container to retain freshness while not in use.
