Awesome strings
I've been trying tons of strings on many different guitars. Anything from 50's Gibson's to newer PRS Customs. These are great light gauge strings with just enough heavy bottom.
Fantastic Hybrid Set
After experimenting with dif brands and sets for several years now, decided to finally do side by side comparisons and narrow down which strings I really want to stick with. After trying several brands and sets from Ernie Ball, DR, GHS, Dean Markley, Elixir, etc, D'addario finally won the battle. They have a brighter edge to them that others just don't have and they have just the… read more right amount of tension on the wound strings. I play on an HSS guitar primarily, and when I use single coils, I want it as bright as possible. That's why you get single coils in the first place. But I also want to be able to chug and really beat the heck out of my strings on the humbucker, and these absolutely fill both needs. Great feel, great tuning stability and lock in pretty much as soon as you put them on. I also love that they encourage recycling and their Player's Circle program is awesome too. They don't have to do that, but they do it anyway. So yeah, I'm officially a D'addario user.
My First Choice for Most Electrics
I love these on Strats and my new FMT HH Telecaster. I bit more beef on the bottom, with an easy bending top. I've been using mostly D'Addario on all of my guitars and basses for 40+ years, and the feel, consistency, even tone, and intonation accuracy has never let me down. All at a very reasonable price!
The Best Hybrid Set
I wanted to try these on my Fender Brad Paisley Telecaster. I have always used Daddario 9-42 on all my guitars. I was doing some final song arrangements and tweaking with a friend who wanted chicken pickin guitar on his country songs he wrote. Being a session Musician I always do as the artist asks. So a couple songs were in D so I dropped the low e to d to get the Waylon Jennings… read more vibe going. Well the 42 was a little flabby to me and would fart when I really layed into it. So the same guy said here try my tele. So I did and he used 9-46 and in drop d it was perfect! Now for me in standard tuning it can be a little stiff but it"s not horrid. I"m used to 9-42 but regardless the same quality and tone you expect from Daddario is there! Fresh and bright outta the box! Also the tuning stability as with all Daddario strings is dead on! Try a set! They are awesome!
