Beastly Strings!
Love all D'addario strings. I use them exclusively on all my guitars and basses. This set is no different. Rock solid tuning, long life, bright and punchy. Perfect. I have the baritone set on an Eastwood baritone tuned to drop G# and they are working almost perfectly. I had to take one star away because they are a little short, or more so, the windings should go the full length… read more and not have any exposed plain string at the end. These just barely reached the 3rd and 4th tuning pegs with enough to make a full wrap around the post. A grabbed 4 packs at once and have no regrets.
Holds fast at ultra low tunings
I've been playing doom for a long time and started using these about 13 years ago. I play standard length guitars in G#, almost a full octave down from standard, and these just lock in. Never a problem with it being flabby or constant re tuning.
Best baritone guitar for the money...
Everything about this guitar is fantastic... The only gripe I have is the neck is a bit thick for me, but it's there for a reason... This Baritone is made for super low tuned metal... It works great at B and A/Drop B and A tunings out of the box, but it's made for 8 string tunings in a 6 string format... It has two enlarged low tuning post for heavier strings kind of like a Bass… read more Guitar would have, and your Lowest string has a extra large insert point if you want to use a Bass string on your low G, F, or even E tunings... So it can get as low as you want to go lol. I love the sound of low tuned Djent, and this guitar can get you there easily without the fuss of playing a 7 or 8 string guitar... Not everyone wants to play a 7 or 8, but some of us want that low sound, this guitar will get you there... It has a 28 scale so set it up right, and it'll stay in tune all the way up the neck in those super low tunings... The cleans are clean, super clean... So you can get those crystal clear cleans we want for Djent and Ambient sounds as well... Very even sounding between the bridge and neck pickups... Why did they put this stupid kill switch on here... That is the only question, am I right??? Still... That just leaves a place where you can upgrade yourself, and add one of EMG's cool add on units if you want... Epic Guitar, so far anyways... I will give an update after more time with it... I wouldn't buy any other Baritone out, that wasn't a custom build for low tuning Djent and metal...
The Best
These are the best strings for any baritone. They come stock on the PRS MM baritone, which is what I play them on, and for good reason. Perfect intonation, balanced tone without sacrificing it, and amazing feel. Love the wound 3rd especially for these gauges. Unwound just sounds really quacky. I keep mine tuned to Drop A# and they hold up very well. Long lasting, too! I can make… read more it through about three gigs before they lose their brightness a little. Some people like to wait longer to change, but I just personally like my strings really fresh. Great strings. Haven't found anything that can beat 'em. I've tried Ernie Ball, Everly, DR and they didn't really feel comfortable, tone-wise. But, these do just right for me. Give 'em a try! Thanks
