The best modern bass on the market! The modern D neck is one of the greatest innovations in the history of the jazz bass! Passive-Active you have all the sounds a Jazz could possibly make! I have two! Couple this with the best service in the industry and you can't go wrong! Call Josh Hacker today!

As a Geddy Lee wannabee, this is an amazing bass to have. I love the option of going between the passive and active options.

Learning Bass on the way to 50!

I am not a professional Musician. I have always played music of some kind or another but its always just been something to relieve stress and work out my brain. I decided when I turned 46 I would buy a bass and learn to play. Picked up this impossibly beautiful Fender Jazz bass, my second choice after returning a Fender P-Bass, that I loved, but just felt the Jazz bass was more read more versatile and would suit my tastes better. If I became a Low End Monstrosity I could always justify the P-Bass later. I love this bass. It is a pleasure just having it in your hands and hearing the great tones that come out of it. The neck is silky and very approachable. It's a simple setup that elicits a lot of variety. It is a lot of fun trying to emulate the sound of a song you're learning or an artist you admire. This bass is up for all of it, I'm just a noob wannabe but it makes graduating to the next levels a fun journey. I think if you wanna learn an instrument you should buy great equipment that you can grow into, it makes the voyage a lot more likely and entertaining the whole way along.

No Better J Bass in My Opinion

After trying several Jazz bass configurations from different brands over the last year or so, I can honestly say this one crushes them all. The neck is incredible, the tone is amazing and the playability is effortless. I don't know how Fender can top this for a production instrument, but I have no need to look anymore. My only decision now is when to buy another one of these in read more a different color, or get the P bass version. Not cheap, but worth every penny. And that is coming from someone who is very picky with instruments. Sweetwater is always awesome to deal with as well!

I've been a bass player my entire band career(s) for decades. I've owned just about every top shelf bass guitar available. I've also owned a few custom made beauties as well. There's not much more I'm going to say about this Jazz bass because professional players out there know top shelf Fender quality as well. This bass plays and looks first class. To me this bass is far above read more high quality and better than any other American Fender Jazz bass I've owned. This bass is going to be my stage player for many years to come. I also thank the Sweetwater crew for being the best!

Such an Amazing Instrument

This newest bass from Fender is so great! The sound from the active/passive electronics are so crisp and has so much range. The neck on this bass feels so great and plays so easily!! And the looks of the bass. The Texas Tea looks so much better in person than what the pictures show. The gold flecks is such a nice touch. The darker maple neck along with the gold anodized pickguard read more really make it look like somewhat vintage. The block inlays are beautiful!! Too bad Fender doesn't offer this color in the PJ bass, or I would have it's twin!!! It sounds soo good in the mix during worship services. I put DR Hi-beams on this and I can dig in hard and really feel it in the mix. So so good!

Sounds Great! Feels great!

I love this bass. It is definitely expensive, but I love how it sounds and feels. I had it setup by Sweetwater and it plays perfectly. No regrets.

I've bought 3 Ultra's from Sweetwater. I have a ton more Fender basses in my collection but I think these have been the best playing and sounding Fender has put out yet. compared to the older .21 fret AM Deluxe basses, the necks are sooo much better, and the updated preamp make it sound like the most flexible bass Fender has made. I've used the Fender Ultra Jazz Bass on my latest read more recording, Beatallica "Devolver", released on November 12th, 2021 on Metal Assault Records. Sweetwater has been one of the best resources I've found for a long time. Best Bass Ever!

Fender Ultra Jazz Bass - Exactly What I Was Looking For

If you are here, I figure you already know at least a little something about Jazz Basses, so I'll try and keep it short. I am more of a passive pickup player, and these noiseless are among the best noiseless pickups I've played. I find going that route is a gamble sometimes, but fear not, these sound great. As always, YMMV. Not really being an active player previously, I will say read more the active mode really takes everything up a notch, which is to be expected, I suppose. In rehearsal I've used both passive and active. I couldn't really say which I prefer. I use the passive setting for some songs and active for others. Having that option is fantastic. They sound great and both cut through the mix. There is always that amp variable, though, don't forget :) Wonderful bass. It really does feel like you are playing a high end instrument. And a big THANK YOU to Alberto and Jim, for going above and beyond.

Fender Jazz Bass Ultra 4-String - Simply Amazing

I've been dreaming of having a good 4-String Jazz Bass for quite a few years. When the Elite Series came out I very much wanted one but was not able to purchase yet and was disappointed when Fender ended production of it. When I read and saw the reviews of the Ultra Series which replaced the Elite I was impressed. I finally bought the Texas Tea. This is a gorgeous bass with amazing read more playability and sound quality. The reviews did mention that the cameras don't bring out the true beauty of this instrument and I agree, that is very true. In person the build, color and finish are just amazing and beautiful. Access to the upper frets is easy. You can dial in any tone using the EQ and pickup selector. This Jazz Bass Ultra was definitely worth the long wait.

I wish I could have gotten The Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass. I went from Used to New and from as cheap as I could. I took a chance and got this. Other Bass players have told me how they love my bass and they want one for them self. The tone is so Beautiful. Makes me sound like I know what I am doing.

Fantastic

I'm a 44 year old newb (8 months playing; reformed drummer). Been around music many years, good musicianship around me. This is my third bass (it's fun) - first a Sterling Stingray, second an Ibanez SR500e. The Stingray is tougher for me to play, but cool - sounds like a Musicman. The Ibanez I like a lot - playable for me, good weight, balance. This Fender is another level. If I read more hit the zone, it feels like it's playing itself. Passive tone is lovely - warm, pleasant, right punch, rise and sustain is even and smooth - and blending in more of the bridge pick-up brings more punch, grit, can get downright mean. I've not played with the eq much yet, but frankly I'd take it without it and be happy. Beautifully made, very satisfying to handle. Downside, if any - feels a bit heavy to me. I don't need to put it down, but I can feel it after an hour. But I've only played a few bass guitars, so with a grain of salt. The weigth doesn't put me off at all though. Fantastic. Very happy with it.

Extremely flexible bass with wide range of voices. 3 band 18v preamp, active/passive mode and passive engages old school tone control. Plays great, sounds great, and white is spectacular!

Where to start, what a beautiful bass! Replaced a MIM Jazz bass and the quality difference is amazing! The neck is smooth as butter. The 18v preamp is hot!, or if you want a warm passive tone just flip the switch. I tried to find a flaw and can't. Comes with a hard case that looks comfy enough to sleep in.

I’m ashamed I didn’t get it sooner

Been playing bass for 10-15 years, and it's the best thing I've ever played. The neck is beyond perfect and the sound is beyond belief, you can dial it anywhere you want with ease. If you're someone who has been playing 5+ years, get the financing and treat yourself. It be the best money you'd ever spend on a bass.

Highly recommend
