Received my Fender Ultra Precision today, wow is all I can say. I am without words to describe this fine instrument. My Sales Engineer Rep Roq took the the time to answer all my questions before pulling the the trigger, with that said I was able to make an informed decision.

I have been playing a Peavey T-40 since 1982. MY wife bought me the Fender American Ultra Precision Bass for our 40th wedding anniversary. Been playing the bass for the last few weeks and I love this bass. Much easier to play and has a great range of tones. Beautiful looking bass with a great sound, can't ask for much more. Thanks you Fender.

I have been working to much to spend as much time as I would like with this new toy, but have played it enough to love it already. It is so easy to get the sound I want quickly for each song while playing with the band I am in. No more switching basses needed. I will always love my G&L M-2000 but I can tell back right stage is now going to feature a Fender American Ultra Precision read more bass for me. It is to much fun to play and has all the options I craved. Passive to active with the flip of a toggle is still mind boggling for me. Thanks to Sweetwater for the amazing service as always, and to Evan who is always there when needed.

Why buy anywhere else.

This is my 6th guitar I have purchased from Sweetwater in the last 2 years. Sweetwater is a one stop shop with knowledgeable sales staff. I deal with Ramses and he goes above and beyond to help me with my order. This won't be my last guitar purchase .. I'll be back

I've been playing bass for 35 years and have had some very high end basses. I will say first, I have NEVER been a big fan of Fender due to hit and miss quality even on the MIA's. The few I've owned I've sold rather quickly. This bass is on a completely different level than any other fender I've owned or played. First and foremost the neck - the sick satin finish and rounded edges, read more along with the modern D profile makes this, for me, the sweetest most buttery neck I've ever played. It's just incredible. The fretwork quality is flawless, and the roasted maple is just beautiful. My initial impression of the preamp / pickups are a 10/10. Dead silent and I can honestly say I'm getting the tone I've been searching for my entire life. I guess I should have been playing precision's all these years and not messing around with all the boutiques? Ugh. I've read previous fender noiseless PUPs were not great but I believe these are revamped and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in these pickups or preamp. You must hear this bass to truly understand amd appreciate. The overall build quality is completely perfect. I'm extremely picky and even the tiniest flaw drive me crazy. I was fortunate to find this bass locally and inspect every minute detail. Just absolutely flawless. The finish - again, especially with the Arctic Pearl, pictures do no justice. Never been a fan of "white" basses but this is far from boring white. The metallic flake is subtle but so gorgeous. I can't imagine this specific color under stage lights. Again flawless. I could go on and on. This bass is dang pricey for a Fender but they knocked it way out of the park on this one. If you are on the fence and are unable try one out first, I have no problem whatsoever recommending you just order it. IMO this is easily Fender's best design and build quality I've ever seen. It's a bass for a lifetime, no question.

Plays great sounds the same, I do wish they made this in a 5 string, but this guitar is a beast. Thanks to Riley at Sweetwater for hooking me up.

Awesome Bass Fast Neck, Electronics Far Exceeded My Expectations. Anytime I hear Noiseless Pickups This Message Flashes In My Brain Less Range of Tone. Not The Case, Great Punch, Smooth Midrange, Crisp Highs and Complete Control All from the Bass. Was Effortless to Dial in my Tone for the Studio and My Live Rig Has Incredible Punch. The D Shape Neck Is Very Fast and Silky read more Smooth. One of My Favorite Bass's now in my Collection. I had the Guy's From Sweetwater set the bass up as my Tech went to Florida and I don't think He plans on Returning. It was Worth it the Bass was Perfect out of the Case Action Intonation PERFECT Special Thanks To My Sales Rep Todd Kitchen. As Always SweetWater The Top In Customer Service and Top Of The Line Equipment.

Simply Awesome

I've been playing bass guitar for just over a year now, so I'm a beginner and I bought my Fender a little over 4 months ago, so you know where I'm coming from. I started out with a Vester which I bought it in Korea in 1994, but all I did was carry it around in a case for the majority of my time while I was in the military. So just before my 62nd birthday I decided to take lessons read more and now here I am (wishing I started sooner). My Vester was a good starter, but there was always something missing so I decided to buy a good Bass and after quite a bit of research and talking to my instructor (Darrell) who is a great teacher and has been playing since he was 7 (he's 65 now), been to school for his trade and is a professional musician; just a cool dude with a wealth of knowledge about the music world that I simply had no idea about. (A plug for Sweetwater: these folks are great to work with, they took all the time "I" needed to talk to me and teach me some things, this is where I do business now) When I bought my Fender it was like a quantum leap in every aspect of what I knew about Bass Guitars. From the tone to the feel, it is just an awesome musical instrument. But since I am a novice I believe the biggest complement I can give this Bass is from Darrell who has said on many occasions that my Fender is just a great quality bass guitar. He mentioned that he did some research on his own on this bass and all he could say is what a good purchase I made. Since we're both seasoned dudes, we take time to talk and fuss around with different things swapping out guitars and such, and I always enjoy watching him play my bass, it's an added inspiration for me to see my bass being played to it's full potential - Simply Awesome!

Pro Piece of Kit

Sweetwater Customer

The Ultra Precision is a very pro piece of kit. The tonal variations are immense, so if you can't find a workable sound with this bass you won't find it with anything. Compared with a 60s Vibe Squire, which has a sound that's easy to dial into that vintage Motown sound, this one takes a little work since it's quite modern. But you can find it. The bass really shines when you switch read more on active mode and start shaping the tone controls. The neck is amazing - so slick and fast. The satin finish is gorgeous. Overall this is a highly versatile bass with a huge range of sounds that is a pleasure to play. If you are looking for that old-style sound, this may not be the one for you. It looks like a precision but the bridge pickup makes this a quite different instrument.

Too bad they don’t make this in a 5 String

The only thing that I don't like about this new Ultra Precision is that I couldn't get it in a 5 string. The PJ configuration combined with the Active/Passive switch truly makes this a tone monster! I put a Hipshot extender with a Doubleshot arm and can drop to C if I need to!! I highly recommend the Fender American Ultra Precision Bass.

THE ULTIMATE BASS GUITAR

Fender has achieved the goal of creating the best bass guitar to date. Excellent craftsmanship along with premium quality parts are what make this bass guitar truly the ULTIMATE bass guitar known to man as of the current times. I am truly impressed with the new updated electronics along with the brand new series of noiseless pickups! These pickups are definitely studio quality pickups read more meant for some serious recording sessions! To finish the product off with the years worth of tears and dedication/ trial and error of what resonates the best tone, is simply phenomenal! To be able to design and manufacture a electronic system that incorporates both passive and active circuitry, along with the ability to give the player a system that blends both systems at any given moment and also to be able to blend it at any level desired is simply genius! Never before has the player had the complete ability to chose between modern and classic rock tones simply by using the knobs/switches on his guitar. Thank you fender!

What's not to love about this thing? It can sound like a classic p-bass. It has a jazz pickup and a switchable eq. Everything is there. The Sweetwater photos don't do the finish justice. It looks like root beer at the edges and is almost gold at the center. It has a gloss headstock with gold logo, but a modern satin neck. Despite the new color and modern features, it retains a read more strong vintage vibe. I wasn't sure about the mocha burst until I saw it in person. It's stunning. It took a long time for me to pull the trigger on this bass. I mostly want a passive p-bass sound and wasn't sure I should bother spending money on an active eq. The American Performer p-bass seemed like the obvious choice, but there's more than just just the eq to distinguish the Ultra. It has noiseless pickups. A premium hard case is included. The best upgrade might be the high-mass bridge. It could be my imagination, but I can feel the resonance and power it transfers to the body. This was a lot for me to spend on an instrument, but I'm glad I indulged. I found my bass for life.

My Favorite Bass.

I purchased a demo version of this bass elsewhere. The build quality and playability is second to none. Love the sound in passive and active. Highly recommend.
