As Good As It Get's
I have now played and recorded my new "Fender Custom Shop 1960 Time Machine Heavy Relic Precision," and it is fantastic! The tone is a throwback to my vintgage Fenders, but specifically, with a few of the added differences that makes this bass play and sound incredible. The 9.5 radius fingerboard and the medium jumbo frets give this instrument a "meaty" and solid feel. The '62… read more handwound pickup is full of tone and power. For the vintage bass seeker the Time Machine feels just a good as the real thing with some extra sensitive and lively playability. Th heavy relic just looks killer while the feel of the entire bass, every part, is smooth and worn, like an old bass would feel. The balance and weight are perfect. The finerboard is smooth and fast, and every note on the full range of each string is in tune! As a player of over fifty years, and owner of many vintage Fenders, I cannot sing the praise of the new bass enough. Fender hit a Grand Slam with this series. (I now own several). Thanks for building a top class, vintage instrument. Thanks Clint, my sales contant, for being a total professional.
