I was talked into buying this Guitar and all I can say is WOW. Was never a fan of signature stuff but this Bass has everything you could need to play any style music. The hipshot is kick*** an added dimension. Do yourself a favor give this a try! It's a P-Bass on steroids lol

Because it was out of stock here, I bought it elsewhere. It's a great cross between a Precision and Jazz bass. When I set the toggle switch to the center position, it sounds just fine to me. My main problem was the brown Rosewood fretboard surrounded by so much blackness. It was like wearing brown shoes with a tuxedo. The day mine arrived, I took it to have the fretboard stained… read more to look Ebony. The binding on the side wouldn't take the stain and remains brown, but the frets themselves took the stain just fine and it looks much better this way.

This is an exceptional bass and I am now the proud owner of the ‘ Black Beauty’... let’s start with the made in Mexico Fender stereotype. If you’re a Fender MIA snob stop reading now because you’ll be miffed by what I’m about to say. This bass is a thing of beauty in every conceivable way. Yes- it’s a Precision... Yes- its Mexican... Yes-it costs a bit more than a… read more typical MIM bass. However... all of the attributes you would associate with a well made ‘American’ Fender are in this model. Duff McKagan and the Luthiers at Fender have come up a stunning all around P-bass that is reliable , comfortable to wear , adaptive to any music style and yes- a sight to behold. The neck is fast and stable. The frets are well seated and comfortable to play over. The white block inlays are great on a dark stage. The Hipshot tuner is tried and true (The other three a little stiff). The pickup configurations, winding, and TBX tone circuit turn the bass into a chameleon with a serious predator growl. 20 years playing as a pro and I own three custom shop fenders, one MIJ and now this Mexican beauty. Great sound with a killer design and playability. Much praise to Duff and Fender for this gem. I just received one of the 1st ones in Black. Killer basses, looks and sounds awesome I've been wanting a shiny new one in black. The originals are over 30 years old and becoming harder to find they usually beat up. The tbx control almost sounds active I couldn't be happier . Thank you Mason Hunter and the Sweetwater team getting the base to me in a timely manner
