Redondo Fail

Ric

I purchased this guitar and was excited to get it because I like the looks of it, but once I received it, the treble knob was very hard to turn counterclockwise from center position. Frets up and down the neck came sharp against the fingers and fingerboard was dry. Low and behold, I had to work the fret buzz out as well. Truss rod adjustment and new strings along with some fretboard read more oil fixed that beside the sharp edges. I still did not like the treble knob not working correctly so I sent it into Fender for replacement. The second one, well, the preamp was fine, but the neck, frets, fretboard and string buzz became the same issue but worse. I could not get the fret buzz out by adjusting the truss rod as the first Redondo even with humidity control for about a week. The fret buzz would just switch from one area to another on the neck. From there I gave up on the Redondo all together and asked Fender to replace it with their CD140SCE only because I had this guitar before and had no issues and it was the same price as the Redondo. And my previous CD140SCE was the older version. I hope when I get it, I hope I will not have these same issues. Not sure what Fender is doing these days when guitars leave the warehouse. They need better quality assurance and better climatized warehouses I presume. Nobody like getting a new guitar only to have so many issues. If you buy this guitar, I hope you have better experience than I did. Cheers!

Everything is perfect but

Everything is amazing on this guitar. But the neck has a twist to it so the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string all hit the 15th fret once you get to the 7th so, it's unplayable 7th fret+ and even at the 7th there's an absurd amount of fret buzz. Upset, its a beautiful guitar and sounds great, but only sounds great where you can actually play it.

Country Strat

Bette than I thought it would be! Great sound, look and feel. The tuner is sweet and I LOVE the classic Strat head, although it takes some time to get used to tuning your strings when you are used to the standard setup. My only complaint is that the saddle is too high for my likes, but I had a new, lower one made and it's perfection now.

Love it

Zero complaints about this guitar. Looks great, has a really crisp tone. New favorite.

Pleased so far

Just purchased this locally at a slightly higher price. Acoustic tone is strong, balanced and evenly projected. Haven't plugged her in yet so I can't comment on the electric response. The stock strings are heavier than my preference, but nice to break in the tonal resonance. I'll change them to 10-47s in a few weeks. Overall pleased with her so far.

Pretty Nice Guitar.

Don't think you can trust the on board fishman tuner. Haven't had this guitar for 48hours and i wanted to see what this was all about. Next thing i know.. It snapped.. Snark tuners are the way to go.

This Guitar Plays Great

Love my new Fender Redondo. Looks and Plays great. One mistake I made is not having Sweetwater set it up. Has some dead frets down low on the neck. I'll have to take it to a guitar shop to have it corrected. I don't trust myself to adjust the truss rod myself. If you buy one of these beauties be sure to have it professionally set up.

Great sounding and feeling guitar

So, this is my first real guitar, and ever since I pulled it out of the box, I've been in love. The neck is absolutely perfect for me. I am a new player, so you might take that with a grain of salt. My last guitar was a Chinese Ventura and it doesn't even remotely hold a candle to this guitar. I couldn't be happier with the sound, playability, and the service and attention to read more detail. Sweetwater's setup and service are top-notch as well.

Great playing/sounding guitar

I love this guitar! I paid a little extra for the additional setup and nut upgrade. It plays and sounds very nicely both acoustically and through my amp.

Amazing Acoustic Guitar for Electric Players

Corey

I picked up this Guitar a few days ago at a local music shop and I’m thoroughly impressed. I mostly play electric but every now and then I’ll play an acoustic set for shows just to do something different but I realized I could never play an acoustic as well as I do Electric....not anymore. I love the Redondo neck and headstock. You’re basically getting an electric guitar neck read more with an acoustic body. The neck isn’t too bulky, the action is set just right. Very comfortable to play. The Fishman pre-amp system takes it to a whole new level of sound quality. I used to own a Takamine EG-240 Acoustic Electric and it’s got nothing on this Fender. Nice balanced tone, not to warm, not too bright, of course you can adjust your tone with the bass and treble with the Fishman system but in any configuration it sounds great. I typically use brass bridge pins on my acoustics but I’m honestly having trouble deciding if I want to slap some on this guitar. In my opinion it sounds just as great as it would with some Brass Bridge pins. The only issue I’ve had with it was a case....this guitar is about an inch and a half bigger than your normal everyday acoustic so I had to modify a case so it would fit. That’s just a tiny hiccup but it’s no longer an issue. Highly recommended guitar especially if you’re mainly an Electric player. You can’t go wrong wether you’re a beginner or professional!

I cant say enough good about this guitar

Without a doubt, this guitar is the best job for anyone who wants a guitar to play at home and then bring it to a stage without compromising looks or feel. The pictures on this site or online do not do this guitar justice. it looks much better in person. The guitar also has a very rich sound.

WOW

First of all pictures do not do this guitar justice, it is simply BEAUTIFUL and the feel and tone not to mention the quality of workmanship are beyond compare... in my humble opinion, Fender has never gotten a lot of love for their acoustics but I dont see how anyone can deny the over all quality of these guitars. Thanks as always to Ben at Sweetwater for great customer service...
