AWESOME
I recently purchased one of these from another large retailer. I'm not proud of that but I had been given a bunch of gift certificates over the years that I had never used. I also had a good chunk of money in rewards from my employer. Gift certificates for GC were all that was avalible. That's the only reason I didn't buy from Sweetwater. So the bass is amazing..It has a very thin… read more and fast neck. It sounds great, it plays great, the pickups are fantastic. The hardware could be a little better. The bridge is solid but the tuners feel a little cheap but they stay in tune. It's supposed to be the best of the 60's Era with modern features. For whatever reason, they didn't make the truss Rod access modern. The neck must be removed to adjust the truss Rod which is a pain. This is why I only gave it 4 stars instead of five. It's still a great bass. I also missed the "Sweetwater Difference" as it arrived unplayable and needing a serious set up and the fingerboard was very dry. I was resistant to Pau Ferro but once I oiled it, it's absolutely gorgeous. By this bass and save yourself some hassle and buy it from Sweetwater. The firmest gold is STUNNING in person and the pictures do not do it Justice.
60s' for the rest of us~
What a fantastic instrument. Really well appointed Jazz Bass that plays like a dream. Thanks to Sweetwater for helping me get exactly what I was looking for...a "60s" Jazz Bass that I could afford without all the hassle! Little set-up (not much!) and it was ready to go.
