One Of The Most Versatile Amplifier With Incredible Tones
My main amp is an incredible custom Dumble clone head and a custom cabinet which has turned heads with its incredible tone. So I am very spoiled with my amps and my tone. However, they are cumbersome to take to and from frequent rehearsals and jams. With that being said, I was in search of a smaller amp to take to and from these rehearsals and jam sessions. I set the bar high… read more but kept expectations moderately low knowing I will not find anything to equate my main amp. After day after day of watching and reading reviews on the internet, I decided to go with the Fillmore 50. I have not only been happy with my choice, I am blown away by the Fillmore 50's tonal versatility and nuances. It is very responsive to dynamic playing from the cleanest settings to full Mesa Boogie overdrive. Truly was shocked by it's tonal palette. Capable of Tweed tones through the heavy overdrive tones of the Boogie Mark 1. Even in the more saturated drive settings, all the notes are clear and percussive. Volumewise, it may not be as loud as some 50 watt amps, but has certainly is loud enough for outdoor gigs with a heavy hitting drummer--and I'm still asked to turn down. Go figure... I am very thankful I took the financial risk and went with the Fillmore 50. It truly is worth every penny. BTW, I rarely write reviews. This amplifier blew me away enough for me to make this effort. Also, the service that Sweetwater has given and continues give is truly in a class by itself. Thank you to the Sweetwater team for being an incredibly reliable and accommodating source of music equipment.
Fillmore. Does. Everything.
