Surpassed Expectations..
Recently bought this pickup as an alternative to a SDuncan JB because I wanted an active JB and didnt want to buy the matching set or special order. I had a shootout with the JB, which I have installed in another guitar and prefer the Fluence. Its extremely versatile, and I cant decide if I like it better than the modern, and I love the modern.
High Quality Alnico Bridge Pickup
Pickup has great tone, several voicings, and Is active so it has very little noise. I prefer ceramic pickups, but def. like to keep an SD JB around.. and one with this one.
Fishman Fluence Classic Bridge vs Keith Merrow pickup
I purchase this pickup to replace the Fishman Fluence Keith Merrow Bridge pickup. The Keith Merrow pickup sounds too tinny. However, if you like this sound and plan to purchase the KM set then I would recommend NOT spend the extra $$ for the Keith Merrow pickups, stick to the classic. I was hoping the classic would have added some girth but I did not hear or feel any tonal difference… read more from the Keith Merrow bridge pickup. Unfortunately, I was not able to replace the bridge pickup with another Fishman Fluence since the guitar is a Schecter KM and requires this pickup format otherwise mods would be in order... not a chance!!
