These are the ones!
My ESP LTD M1000HT came with the Fluence Modern set which were alright but lacked the "it factor" and weren't as versatile as I would have liked between the two on board voicings. Swapped in the DT set and was blown away. Voicing one has all the output of the modern set but with better articulation on chords and a sweeter sounding midrange. Voicing two is very respectable single… read more coil sound that is nice in both positions. Both voicings seem to feel more responsive to the volume and tone pots than the modern set did too. If that all want enough…the black nickel finish with the pole piece really classed the whole look of the guitar up quite a bit! Highly recommend this set!
Fantastic, crisp, and versatile!
These things are amazingly good. If you wire up the voice/coil pins separately, you can actually get 4 sounds out of this pickup. I mostly use them in the "Voice 2/Coil Tap" mode, which is loud and bright, with great note separation. But if you want to do drop C djent? These will do it. Sweet single-coil jazz? These will do it. Classic rock PAF's? Yep. Doesn't matter how much gain… read more you add, they don't turn to mush. If you want a guitar that can do anything, these can help get you there. My *only* gripe with them is that they don't offer a 7-string version.
Best active pickups
Solid tone and versatility. The different voicings almost make it sound like you have an active, passive, single, humbucker all in one. Upgraded my PRS SE custom 24 and it seems like they were built for it. Definitely will be using Fishman more in the future.
Yes really - one pickup set that does it all
I admit it, I like guitars. I like having lots of them, with different necks, pickups, and even appearances. But I also like having a main workhorse that I'm most familiar with, and that I feel most connected with playing. However, it's hard to stick to one guitar when there are so many different tones from different pickups to enjoy. This set is as close as it gets to solving… read more that problem. Glassy Tele tones? Done. Cutting modern ceramic humbucker metal sounds? Done. Vintage PAF? No problem. Yes these pickups are newfangled, but in the end, it's about getting the job done, and these pickups do it. They allow me to have most of the versatility I want in one instrument. Absolutely satisfied with the purchase and install that the Sweetwater techs did.
What EMG's should sound like
Fantastic pickups! Super hot but with plenty of clarity even with high amounts of gain. They had their trial run at band practice and the other guitarist and I were blown away at how much better we sounded together because of these pickups. Played through a triple rectifier at practice and a 6505 mh at home and they sounded great in both amps. Well worth the money.
