Great pickups that are quiet! And strong!
I recently installed this pick guard into a fender , polar white, player Stratocaster with much success. First I switched the white pick guard with a genuine fender parchment pick guard. Also purchased a fishman Strat pack battery pack that fits in place of trem spring cover. Got it in black,(special price of $69!), installed it,using the original cover as a spacer, to get a little… read more more clearance for the exposed section of the battery circuit board. Then I plugged in and cranked up my Blackstar ht 40, and there was silence! Not less hiss, not a little quieter, silent! And then I started playing, the the output is awesome!,even before you pull the second tone knob. I'm completely satisfied with this one. And thanks to Zach Garrison and everyone at SWEETWATER! You folks are awesome!
Easy Install + Vintage Strat tones NO HUM....
Install is very simple if you have any guitar repair skills at all. You Just solder a few wires to the input jack which is included. NO HUM AT ALL this thing is dead quiet in all 5 positions. I'm floored really I can't say one bad thing about them anything from Jimi to RHCP sounds great. They are the best sounding strat pickups i've ever heard!
The best!
I am quite impressed with these pickups--had them installed in my Strat for over a month and they are the real deal. Dead quiet, versatile in tone/feel, and have super-long battery life. I play these through a Princeton Reverb and a Rivera Venus Deux 25 watt--the tones are superb and it's tough putting the guitar down--my Strat sounds so good now.The neck pickup sounds just like… read more a vintage Strat should: sort of hollow and woody. In-between and middle positions are spanky and bright. The bridge is really quite nice--not too strident, but still able to cut through. My overdrive and fuzz pedals work in cohesion for me too with these pickups. I can get Hendrix and Gilmour in the vintage position of the push/pull pot. If I pull out the tone pot for the hotter pickup settings I can coax SRV. If I ditch the pick and play with my fingers I can pull off some Jeff Beck trickery. Bottom line: I am very happy with these pickups. I can't see me ever changing them out.I am a die-hard passive pickup kind of guy, but after reading up on how these pickups are created I felt that these aren't your typical active pickup. They don't sound lifeless or characterless at all--quite the opposite. In my estimation they combine all the tonal qualities of passive single coils, teamed with the active pickup qualities of a completely useable volume knob with no treble loss when rolled off and noise-free.Shout out to my SE, Nick Graham. He's always a pleasure to work with and is a super cool dude!
Simple and Easy
Just had my tech literally swap this and my guard on my strat. Sound is clear and big especially with other voice. No loss on the highs when i turn down the volume. this coupled with the battery pack is pure Tonal Bliss.
Fishman battary packs
Sounds amazing n convenient for active pickup players i give it five stars just on that factor alone n plug it into a usb charger another five stars
