Equal to the best
I use an MXR-- been around for 20+ years. The great pickers in country used to call it the Nashville Secret, til everyone else caught on. It's probably used by more pros than any other compressor. Short answer, the Force Field is just as good. I own some other TC Helicon stuff and got a free one sent to me. It really impressed when I tried it out. I hooked up my fave guitar and amps… read more and split the signal to both compressors, went thru an A-B box to compare the two. The Force Field matched it exactly--very organic analog tone, true pass-through and complete ability to dial in various settings--even then, it still matched. In fact, when I turned my back and randomly hit the A/B option button without watching, I couldn't tell which I had on without looking. Both have sturdy metal cases, use 9V, and options/adjustments are virtually the same. So---go for it, you're not losing anything but saving some bucks, and getting a box that's as good as the best.
Amazing pedal
Although this is my first pedal compressor. It works perfectly, just as in every review I saw of it. Very well constructed, very solid. Really reliable, and for the price is a bargain. Highly recommended
