Vintage with a Punch
I got this for the bridge position of my PRS S2 Singlecut Semi-hollow body. I needed something to balance with the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the neck. Most other pickups had something wrong with them: too much bass, midrange spike, etc. The Fortitude solved the problem by being balanced, while also being warm. Powerful Low End and Clear High End Tone
I use this pickup in my Friedman Vintage T Telecaster and it provides a powerful low end and clear high end tone that I was looking for. I went through several high gain pick-ups sets looking for the right mix of clarity and power. The high gain pickups provided the power but always had the high end muddled. I play a lot of hard rock and pop cover songs in my band and this set allows me to find the right tone for all of them.
Good from blues to modern metal
I mainly play modern metal, and I put this in the bridge position of an ESP LTD EC256. Like all passive pickups, it needs some help from an overdrive pedal to shape the tone, but it has a solid chunk while remaining surprisingly tight and percussive without having a cold feel. For less fun, lower gain stuff, it sounds like a PAF pickup. Excellent value.
PAF output with a little more juice in the bass
This is a lower output pickup so it can be crystal clear on a clean channel. It responds very well to playing softly or aggressively. The bass is a little bit boosted so it remains tight with high gain. So it's slightly hot in the bass, right where you want it to be, but can still clean up for the classic paf tone.
