WOW!
I received my new FV500L pedal yesterday. Obviously, it's way too early to know how it will hold up over the long haul, but my initial reaction is that I'm super-impressed with this pedal! Just picking it out of the box and feeling how heavy it is tells me this thing is built to last, with it's cast aluminum construction. It operates silky-smooth, and the gain from minimum to… read more maximum is perfectly, 100% linear. The minimum volume setting is a nice feature, and doesn't affect the linear gain at all, no matter where it's set. I especially like the pedal feel adjustment, which adjusts the mount of friction in the movement. I could set it to my exact liking. Bottom line: If you're a keyboard player, don't waste your time shopping around, just buy this one!
Great multi-purpose pedal. It's a keeper.
I purchased this pedal in 2008. It has been used as a volume pedal in my guitar rig after a line buffer. I've used it as an expression pedal for a Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe and Kemper and am currently using it in the effects loop of a PRS MT 15 to help tame the drive channel for studio use. This pedal has performed flawlessly over the years and seems to be no different than the day… read more I bought it. I take good care of my gear. But, this pedal has seen a lot of use. But, you could not tell it from a new one. The taper is great. The volume knob on the side will let you limit the travel to do some nice stuff with expression controls. It's heafty like the EB. But the pivot point is much more ergonomically placed. It's more in line with your ankle instead of the middle of the pedal.
Boss Pedal Is BOSS!
This volume pedal is built like a tank! Just make sure you get the right one. They have a low impedance and a high impedance version. Keyboard guys you want the "L". Guitar, you want the"H". Very happy with the results so far. We'll see if the guts of this thing are built as well as the outside.
Sturdy and Smooth
These Boss pedals are very well built, and HEAVY. I am using one as an expression pedal for a Korg Kronos. SPECIAL NOTE: Korg and Boss/Roland wire their pedals differently, so in order to get this to work with a Korg synth, you will need to wire a TRS cable with the Tip and Ring flipped on one end.
Solid Quality
I love this pedal. It is robust and sturdy. Adjusting the volume is smooth and stable. I like the adjustable volume range control on the side. I imagine that it will be around long enough for me to put it in my will.
