A Good Home for Your Strat

Beautifully built luxury case. Opening the case to take out the guitar starts the good vibe. You"ll forget how much you paid for it but you"ll never stop feeling good about clicking open the latches and lifting your guitar out of it.

Best case for a Fender

This case is beautiful. I got the tweed with the red interior. The poodle plush is so much more luxurious than the other cases. Holds securely and great protection. What more could you ask for?

Vintage correct but lacking modern protection and features.

This case made by G&L came standard with my Fender American Vintage "65 and Custom Shop Closet Classic Stratocasters. I love the guitars but the case has some drawbacks. First the good: It is made to be period correct by one of the original manufactures. Wood panels, colorful plush interior, leather handle and end caps and metal snap latches. It"s a beautiful thing to behold.… read more If you are a colllector with a vintage fanaticism who demands things they way they used to be when Leo Fender shipped out the original guitars, you"ll love this case! Now for the not so good but likely still period correct features: The vibrant plush interior left a orange stain on the lacquered headstock of my guitar where it rubs. (Not so fun on a high dollar guitar). I know, it"s all part of the vintage relic process righ? The guitar fits loosely inside the case and can move around while transporting. The case is heavy by modern standards due to the construction and materials, yet much less protective than modern cases. The latches are finicky in that they sometimes don"t want to open. I had to shave some graphite into the latches to help lubricate them yet they are still slightly unreliable. The handle isn"t the most comfortable when carrying long distances mostly due to the thin design and weight of the case. 2 finicky latches and a swing gate in the center doesn"t inspire confidence while carrying. If you are using this case, I"d recommend carrying it with the lid facing your body so if it ever opens unintentionally you have a chance of saving the guitar by pulling the case against your side to keep the lid closed. I love the looks and vintage vibe but wanted better protection and more comfortable transport as I travel to gigs often with my guitars. I keep these vintage cases in the closet at home for when I want to get sentimental. The rest of the time, I keep my guitars in Fender Deluxe Molded cases which are slightly less expensive but offer much better fit, protection and comfort for travel. I"d also like to mention that sweetwater is a great to do business with. They really do care about customer satisfaction.
