Gibson Guitar

Everything about this guitar is spot on. I have played guitar for 50 years and even for an elderly man the playability is excellent. Craftsmanship is flawless and setup on the guitar was great, usually on a new guitar setup is needed. Would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a quality instrument. Sweetwater Music was also a pleasure to deal with, thank you to the staff read more and Joe Perrone (salesman) for a wonderful experience. Garry Troxtell

A Compact, Punchy, Acoustic Gem From Gibson

The only acoustic guitars I care for are 00 or 000 sized and this is a FANTASTIC instrument. A solid wood, Bozeman made instrument for under a grand Gad to have been a stretch for Gibson, but they did it and I'm not disappointed. I already own the L00 Original and really wanted to see if this Players Port was worth it's salt. It certainly lets you hear more of your playing. This read more guitar also has a brighter, punchier tone that makes me not want to put it down. The flatter radius on the fingerboard suits me perfectly, as I primarily play electrics. I strung it with 11-52 strings and it's now perfect! As for the people with nothing good to say about these, I hope Gibson keeps doing what they do despite the criticism. It's impossible to make everyone happy. Made in America, solid wood and at a price comparable to an import. The hardworking people in Bozeman have to eat too so if you can build better ones, sell them at a relatively low price and still pay your bills, go for yours. Thank you Sweetwater and my engineer Jimmy Hart for taking care of me once again!

What a value!

Once upon a time, I worked for a competitor of Sweetwater, which afforded me the opportunity to experiment with all sorts of guitars, high end and low, so I've been able to figure out exactly what I like. I typically play a Gibson J180EC, Epiphone Masterbilt DR-400 MCE, or my 1966 Kalamazoo Epiphone 12-String FT-112 Bard, but I have bad joints in my shoulder, which results in significant read more fatigue after any extended period of playing, so I was looking for something a bit smaller... Then I got an e-mail from Gibson about their new Generation line. Immediately, the G-00 caught my attention. I began pestering my wife about it (we talk about any purchase above $300), and she just wasn't biting (I guess that DW Roger Taylor snare drum last month put her over the edge...) ...but, then arrived a box from Sweetwater a few days later. She'd reached out to my Sales Engineer, Paul, and surprised me with the guitar for our 10th Anniversary! When I unboxed it, and began to play it, I realized it was EXACTLY what I wanted. The action was perfect- low, no fret buzz, the neck was fast, slim like an electric, smooth thanks to the satin finish, and the player port is a nice feature that allows you to better hear your own playing. I was blown away. It's super light, and I've spent hours upon hours playing it already. One thing I'll say, is that Gibson has stepped up their quality immensely in recent years, and this guitar, budget friendly or not, falls right in line with that boost in quality. If you're looking for a no-frills Gibson to get the job done, these Generation line of guitars are a phenomenal option, especially at this price point. Don't hesitate, just buy it. Trust me.

Legendary "Nick Lucas" style in USA-made Gibson!!

I've been looking at Gibson 00-style guitars ever since I saw Bob Dylan photographed playing a 1930s Nick Lucas model in the early 1960s. Vintage and re-issues are hard to find, and very expensive. Independent luthiers have their own models, beautiful but again, very expensive. When Gibson announced their Generation Series that included a 00 model, I was interested. The specs read more show that they are all made in Michigan at Gibson's factory, and the price for the 00 was affordable??? Wow, I had to put in my order! It took about 10 days to arrive due to a delay with FedEx, but better late than never. The Guitar is flawless, the satin finish looks great, and the neck is super smooth. The Player Port does make the guitar seem louder to me, because some of the sound is now sent in my direction. I changed the .012s to .010s because all my guitars have extra light strings, and it sounds fantastic. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this guitar, and the heavy-duty backpack-style case is a very nice bonus. One more thing: this is the lightest guitar I own, by far. At 3 lbs, 10 oz, it is almost a full pound lighter than my 000 acoustic, which weighs 4 lbs, 9 oz. This will be a great guitar to take to jam sessions. Thanks, Sweetwater, for having one in stock and getting it to me quickly.
