Still a good guitar

This is my first "real" good guitar, my previous being a MIM Martin with laminate back and sides. I notice alot of people complain about this guitar because of it's price and lacking features. It feels like these people are coming from a place where they've already experienced plenty of good guitars, while I have not, so its a different perspective. While this guitar is plain and read more costs about $, it is a significant upgrade from the MIM martin which I bought for roughly half the price of this gibson. The build quality is better, the feel is better. The most noticeable is the sound. The Gibson is far brighter and is able to punch through compared to the Martin which ends up being washed out with other instruments playing. Much louder too. The sound port seems more gimmicky than enhance the playing experience. If anything, it adds a bit of base to what I'm playing, but thats it. My only complaint is that the gibson logo is just a stencil, which is the same thing my martin has. I would think that for double the money they could at least give an inlayed or sticker like fender does with their even cheaper acoustics.

First, I always deal with Aaron Regenold. Have for years. You get to know your rep and you build that trust .I needed a guitar to take out of the house. I own three high end Martins and a Gibson J45 and and two Ovations. Have you ever been at a family get together and someone says, can I look at your guitar ( which translates to, let me put a ding in it because I don't know what read more I am doing ) and your wife says, Oh let them see it. I am through with that fiasco. So, I needed a guitar to get from here to there and the Gibson G45 pops up. I have never had a guitar with two holes. I thought why start now ? This guitar is a sleeper and in a few years, if you did not buy one you are going to regret it. Great tone, great playable neck, volume that fills a room and definition that makes just an overall great guitar. I have been to two guitar pulls and when I took it out of the gig bag the overall first look was….Whaaaat ? Surprise, surprise. To play it is to love it. I do not not like electronics built into a guitar. I am a purist there. I confess that I have a Fishman single coil Neo D ( buy one if you still can) that I used to see what it sounded like " plugged in " and I'll wager you that it will beat a lot of other high end guitars in a blind hearing test. The craftsmanship is good. It stays in tune. The gig bag is not bad at all. I have never had a walnut body guitar and I am pleased with the sound. I was going through the angst of thinking I needed to pay $ 2500 plus as I am wont to do to get a great guitar yet like I say, this guitar is a sleeper. This is an inexpensive guitar with a high dollar sound. The next time that I am at a get together and someone says, can I see your guitar, the answer will be NO ( with the exception of the folks that I play with at pulls ) since this has turned out to be not one of those that guitars that you let the careless mess with. It may look Plain Jane or Boring Bob ( I do not know if in this rewrite world of PC if you can say that ) but it is high class all the way. The set up from Sweetwater was the usual 5 star service. Carry on Aaron and Sweetwater. Carry on.Gibson, you done good !

Great Entry Level Gibson Acoustic

I was on the fence about buying the new G45,but I am very happy with this purchase for a guitar that I can feel comfortable with taking out in any playing situation and not having to worry about it much. This won't be replacing my 2005 D-18,but it does have its merits.Good very basic build quality.Made In USA, which was worth a few extra bucks to me. Has a really nice neck, feels read more like an Electric.Very smooth player out of the box,the Sweetwater 55 Point Inspection process worked for me on this one. Finish is very thin, but mine seems to be quite even and relatively smooth. Not a Custom Shop build by any means, but I am happy with it,and my local guitar tech said overall it looked pretty solid. I am OK with the Player Port.It has a unique perspective of sound to me coming back at you the way it does.

Absolutely Fantastic - Exactly What I Wanted - Sounds Incredible

Replacing 2 overseas acoustics that are about half the price each... and this guitar is so much nicer and better sounding. It's a different level instrument entirely. There is nothing fancy here (I prefer) but the quality and the sound is top notch. Plays effortlessly. Even my SO went, "WOW, that does sound better." The included gig bag is excellent too. This is just a great buy. read more I have to admit, the only thing I don't like... is the wood truss rod cover. It's thin and looks cheap. I replaced mine with a standard black Gibson plastic one and much prefer it. It matches the pegs and scratch plate too. I love the guitar and am thrilled Gibson has released this line. Absolutely recommend!
