A great experience - Thanks.
I am the proud owner of a G&L Fullerton Deluxe JB Bass thanks in part to the great follow up from Tim Venderpoel - Thanks yet again Tim. I'm quite sure we'll talk again (soon?) This wasn't the easiest of decisions, I'm both old school as well as old. The need to put an instrument in my hands before buying is (was) very important to me. But times have changed as well as my home -… read more no longer close to any premium musical instrument dealers. I was assured by Tim that there would be no issues if I wasn't completely satisfied with my purchase. This however was an unnecessary concern with either Sweetwater or G&L - the fine folks at G&L have put together a stellar Bass - the massive bridge adding mass and sustain is without question one of the reasons I got this Bass. The pickups are articulate, powerful and between the volume and tone control allow amazing balance and bite - dialing in a multitude of useable tones for anything that is thrown my way. Also wish to thank the previous reviewer who answered a critical question for me - The satin finish on the neck is a joy to play. I have a Fat Finger that I bought years ago to even out any dead spots on the neck of my old Bass - it is still on my Gibson Grabber - I can't find a dead spot anywhere on the neck of the G&L.
So solid. Amazing piece
I've been playing bass of various kinds (acoustic standup, Stick, NS EUB, various bass guitars, bassVI's, etc) for 20 years now, but one thing I never owned until now was a regular 4-string fretted bass guitar. I'm glad this was my first. It's beautifully built, balanced, simple. It growls and hums wonderfully, and plays like a dream out of the box. My only complaint is a gig-bag… read more is not really sufficient, but it's a minor thing. The bass is worth every penny and more. If I had to choose again, I'd buy the same one. Way to go G&L!!
Great Jazz Bass
This is my first G&L instrument, and I am very happy with it. Beautiful, unique color, great pickups and hardware, and definitely has a high-end, 'custom-shop' feel to it. The back of the neck is a super smooth, satin finish (some YT vids show this model as having a gloss neck), and the fretboard is really smooth and comfortable as well. Arrived with a great setup. I've owned… read more several Jazz basses, and this is right up there with the best--for a very reasonable price.
