G2622

Appearance is great but the electronics had a small problem the selector switch was cutting out intermittently, I returned it to sweetwater and it was repaired and returned to me and now works perfectly. It's a great guitar, plays great and love the color.

My latest purchase from Sweetwater only exemplifies the quality of equipment and customer service Sweetwater provides. The Gretsch G2622 is a great feeling and sounding guitar. The looks are exactly what I was wanting as well. I've purchased 4 guitars from them and have never been disappointed. My Sales Engineer, Mitch Dazey, is so amazing. I always look forward to talking with read more him as I know I can trust him. He's never led me down a wrong path. If he thinks I need more or less guitar, he'll let me know. He's always available and understands my newbie questions. Thanks Mitch!! It won't be long until I get the itch for something new and I have no doubts where I'll go and who I'll call. That means something to me!

Killer Guitar!

I'd been really wanting a semi-hollow guitar for a long time and, having had good experiences with a few other Gretsch Streamliners, I decided to give this one a shot. Let's just say I'm glad I did! It sounds great clean, you'd expect a semi-hollow from a reputable manufacturer to but I'm really impressed with how well this guitar handles gain. It sounds absolutely huge and so read more far, has given off minimal feedback, which is a pleasant surprise. Playing a lot of punk and metal, I'm very happy with the tones I've been able to dial in. It should be said too that this guitar looks fantastic. It's a little more green in person than the pictures suggest but that's no bad thing. The binding is impeccable and the block fretboard inlays give it a really classy look. Looking closely, a little more care and attention could have been paid to cleaning up the F holes but that's really it. I'd say that the pickups are a solid B+. They don't sound bad by any stretch and are definitely going for the PAF thing. They'll do nicely for a while but I may swap them out eventually. We'll see. One of the biggest surprises about this guitar were actually the tuning machines, of all things. OEM tuners on import guitars like this are usually not very good but these are smooth with no play in the system and hold tune really well. I was anticipating having to upgrade them soon but I'll probably just let them be. Overall, this is a can't miss guitar! It's super versatile, fun to play, sounds amazing, and has that fantastic and unique vibe that only Gretsch can do. Get one before Gretsch realizes they should probably be charging more.

Totally satisfied.

This guitar has a clean electric sound as an acoustic, and a balanced, highly adjustable humbucking sound plugged in. There's no noise in the tone and volume knobs or in the jack. The action is already pretty good out of the box. The strings need to be set up -- the intonation is a little off, and it has a little neck bow, but this is a fantastic instrument other than those very read more normal things one has to do when buying a new instrument. I recommend this guitar to anyone who likes hollow body guitars.
