Excellent purchase

Best guitar I ever bought. Plays like a dream right out of the box. To quote a old friend "It plays like butter" Silky smooth. Great fretboard & action. Just wish I would have bought it years ago instead of procrastinating.

I was looking for a tone that I could not get in my solid body and this guitar has it.

I have never played on a semi-hollow guitar but all I can say is that it is addicting. Overall the guitar sounds great and the pickups are amazing. I was a little worried about the tremolo affecting the tuning of the guitar but so far it has kept in tune. It is not American made, but for the price, the quality is still there and the sound is very nice,...great articulation.

Great all around Gretsch

Recently purchased this guitar about two months ago and I have been very pleased. It's got a very full sound that's not quite as chimey as a Gretsch with filtertrons (which to me can be fatiguing) but not as warm as true humbuckers, very nice middle ground. Build quality/ fit and finish are great, no problems what so ever. It was set up wonderfully right out of the box. Giving 4.5 read more stars because I found the electronics lacking. I will more than likely be upgrading in the near future. And also no case is a bummer. Overall this is a solid and very versatile guitar.

Beautiful guitar with great tone!

This guitar is a beauty! I wish they made the same model with gold hardware! I purchased an Electomatic 12 string with walnut finish about a month before I ordered this instrument. The tone from the pickups on that 12 string made me pick up this 6 string. I had Sweetwater change the strings to light gauge GHS boomers and adjust the truss rod for the lighter strings. They did an read more excellent job. I do a lot of string bending when playing leads and have noticed that I have to retune after about 20 minutes of playing. Still, I love the tone of my two Gretsch guitars. Can't believe I waited so long to get these instruments in my arsenal. If you've never played anything but Fender, Gibson, or Hagstrom... try Gretsch. You will love the tone!

This thing wails!

Beautiful finish, great twang and "plunk" like a great Gretsch and thin-bodied like an ES-335 so it's very comfortable to play. And when you crank up the gain, this thing tears it up! Very happy with it and it's hard to put down. It is actually a little deeper green than the photos appear (where it looks more teal) and is really spectacular under bright lights.

Electromatic’s have gotten a lot better

Could’ve been a little cheaper since the 5422t electromatic is made in Korea and this is made in China. With that said, it plays like butter, frets are flawless and guitar looks and sounds amazing. I’m super happy with it. Going to need a roller bridge to keep that Bigsby in tune though. Sweetwater rocks as always, guitar arrived on time in top shape. A++
