Fits Kramer strat styled guitars like a glove.
Ended up getting this for my 84 since the Kramer hardshell case has been on backorder forever. Glad I spent the extra and got this one. Literally fits like a glove with zero movement. Nice heavy built case that should take a lot if abuse. Its actually very light too and the latches are smooth as butter. You get what you pay for.
Snug fit, plenty of padding, great price, not sitting in a cargo ship off the coast of CA
Over the past fifteen plus years, the original RIC case for my 650S had acquired numerous bruises, cracks and contusions. I'm sure I'm not the only Ricky owner who has run the gamut of trying to find a correct fit case for a beloved Rickenbacker for under $1000? My 650 just happened to fit pretty good in my Tele case so I decided to purchase another tele case but went with a Gator… read more case for Tele style guitars. If it wasn't a match, I'd keep it for my Tele and sell the tweed Fender case. I was quite pleased with the fit of the Ricky in the Gator case. The lower bought was a hair over a half inch tight but the case still closed and latched with no trouble and after letting it sit overnight, the guitar was still snug but the case had conformed just enough so as not to cause rubbing on the guitar finish. I'm sure these cases may even fit well with the RIC 610, 620 and possibly 660 models as well. Obviously, buying a new case from Rickenbacker is also an option but they're going for $ more than the Gator case I purchased and I know the Gator case will hold up longer than the original. As for purchasing, all of us who've done any amount of business with Sweetwater know that it's by far the best and fastest online company to deal with and if you have a personal sales engineer, it's not just a couple of click click online faceless purchases. I've been dealing with Yuval Fuchs for the better part of 15 years now and we have an excellent one on one relationship in regards to purchases, large and small. Yuval and Sweetwater will always be my go-to for pretty much all of my needs.
Great case
This thing was solid. And it fit the thin line tele style guitar I built for my dad perfectly. Have pics if you'd like
Nice Case
I recently bought a Fender American Performer Strat, and one of the ways Fender holds the cost down is to include one of their very basic gig bags. It would be okay to maybe store in a closet, but I wouldn't want to go out of the house with it. The Gator case is very well built and a real value in comparison to others of the same style. The latches are easy to use and the fit… read more for the Stratocaster is perfect. No movement at all. The accessory compartments are just large enough to hold spare strings, picks, trem arm and spring, wrenches, and even a strap if it's not ridiculously wide and thick. Once the lid is closed, nothing moves around or gets lost elsewhere in the case. I can't attest to it's durability in the hands of luggage handlers since I don't fly anywhere with it, but it looks like it'll take a pretty good beating with everyday use and protect the guitar very well. I highly recommend this case and Sweetwater's service is second to none. Thanks to my customer representative, Tyler Nigro, for making sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase.
Great
I love it. Holds my guitar tight.
