When I called my Sales Engineer Dave Hoffman and asked him what he would recommend for a 12 string acoustic. He immediately pointed me towards this Guild and I could not be happier with his recommendation. The playability, sound and aesthetics are excellent. The neck width is very comfortable and the action is great. The unplugged tone is warm and well rounded. Bass notes… read more are full sounding and yet the B and low E strings are not tinny with clear mid range on the D and G strings. Plugged in it sounds even better. I also could not be happier with the look of the guitar. The striped ebony is absolutely gorgeous and pairs well with the dark burst finish. All bindings, inlays and finish are something I would have expected from a much higher priced instrument. Super pleased with the setup and delivery as well.
Guild D-2612CE is one sweet sounding 12-string
After owning this guitar for a couple of weeks,I have to say, it is all I had hoped it would be.It has beautifully clear highs and deep resonating lows and overall has a very rich and satisfying sound. It replaces an older 12-string I had and, without any brand bashing, has a much better sound! And the look of this guitar, with it's 2-tone ebony back and sides,is quite pleasing to the… read more eye.I am very happy with this!
The King of my guitar stable
I called Patrick Lantz at Sweetwater last year as U was looking to buy a higher-end 12 string acoustic/electric guitar. I had started off with a Fender 12 string as an experiment, and fell in love with the 12 string sound, finally realizing that I was now looking for a much more solid and quality sound. Patrick advised me to purchase this Guild 12 string knowing fully well that… read more I was prepared to spend more money than the cost of this Guild guitar. After questioning me as to my requirements and expectations from a 12 string, this was the direction that pointers me towards. I really was not disappointed! The sound of this guitar is rich and gentle. I use it a lot for recording and although I am able to play directly into the audio face, I still often mike the guitar and it's rich, orchestral sound is captured on the recording. My special thanks to Patrick for his expertise and sincerity.
Wanted a Guild 12 String since 1979. Finally own one!
Literally blows my mind. Build quality and beauty of the ebony wood is astounding. The guitar is far better than I am capable of playing as it should be, but I'll get better. The tone is incredible. Great projection very balanced across the tonal spectrum. Lastly, I never thought I could afford one. If not mistaken the one I played at Orlando Music in 1979 was about $2100.00. In… read more 1979. When I saw Sweetwater had a Guild 12 string for $... in 2020 I immediately began researching it was amazed by the caliber of reviews and commentary. I have pretty large hands and it had the widest neck of any 12 string I could find. Perfect for me. Sweetwater set it up for me (low as possible to the frets but no buzz). Absolutely could not be more pleased. Kudo's to Guild for this superb offering, and to Sweetwater for such great customer service and value.
Great guitar.
Plays and sounds great. Action good out of the box. Not a big fan of coated strings, but will do until changed. Acoustically, sounds really good. Plug it in, and it sounds like a guitar that should have cost a lot more money. Finish is great as well. Very classic look. Like the satin finish on the neck. Nice contrast to the gloss body. The arched back is a plus. The only problem… read more was the case that was recommended. Guitar didn't fit. Case was about an inch or so to short. But the case fits my Seagull Walnut 12, and the case I had for it fits this guitar just fine. Great bang for the buck.
