Birthday Bass
I bought this bass as a birthday gift to my self and it is awesome. The flamed maple is beautiful and I love the look where the two top pieces meet, it reminds me of a PRS but more subtle giving it more of a classic look. This is the first semi-hollow-body instrument I have ever purchased and when I played it with out an amp I thought it was going to be louder then it is, I am… read more not disappointed that it isn't loud as I practice a lot in hotel rooms and I'm sure the other guests don't really want to hear various 12 bar blues progressions while they are trying to get their beauty sleep. When I plugged it in to my irig and put on my headset I was not disappointed at all the guitar sounded great, I can't wait to play it through my amp at home when I finally get off the road. The strings sounded really bright but I'm sure they will flatten out with time and as the frets get a bit of wear. The guitar came in a very nice hard case, though once I get it home I don't plan on traveling this guitar much. I feel a lot more at ease checking my Squire Jaguar in it's generic Gator case to an airline then I would with this guitar. I am really happy with this bass and look forward to many years of playing it. As a friend of mine told me when I was thinking of purchasing it "You only go around life once you have to treat yourself well".
