The only strings I play anymore!
These strings are amazing! Such a nice slinky and punchy tone. The tone that I get out of these strings remind me of a hungry Rottweiler just waiting to be released from his leash.
A tail of two strings...
I hope this will help someone. I have a late 60s Fender Strat and saw these strings online. OK, why not try some? Fender guitar, Fender strings, what can possibly go wrong? The strings arrive and I go to put them on. Feed the string through the hole in the tremolo cover on the back of the guitar and the bullet doesn't seem to go in all the way, sticks out of the cover plate.… read more I pull the tremolo cover off and see the hole is not deep enough to hold the bullet. Perfect, I decide to finish stringing up w/o the cover on the back anyway. Guitar plays fine. As expected, the D string feel 'tight', the G is light. I'm so used to standard gauges these don't feel right. They might feel better on stratocasters that are strung upside down. I believe the ball-ends would fit my guitar; which is what I've always used... A chat with a sales rep may have helped me before I ordered? Sweetwater was fantastic handling my call and made a full refund, very happy with them. As for these string, I'll probably use standard gauges in the future.
Great for a light touch
As a not very experienced player, none of my habits are old. Was working on a lighter touch with my fretting hand. These strings are great for that. Had to adjust intonation; no surprise. What did kind of surprise me was; I was able to lower the action without getting buzzy. Put them on my 2011 faded SG. Love the tone of nickel and these sound great.
