Whatever material they use as the "pad" for the capo, depresses the strings perfectly! I have a Deering Eagle II and it works great. Don't have to mess with retuning, (other than normal banjo idiosyncrasies), just attach this Heritage model, slide it up to the fret you want, tighten screw, and done! It is worth the extra money, it is a solid, premium capo. (I recently bought… read more G7 brand Performance 3 capos for my Martin D28 acoustic 6-string and D28-12 string guitars, too! They are also great!)
