HEX True Bypass 6-Loop Audio Switcher Review

Great switcher!

I use this to control some outboard pedals with a Fractal FX8. Works solid, easy to program, and has fast and quiet switching. I recommend small straight jacks on patch cables as it's a bit tight if using all loops. Solid product.

Another amazing product from an amazing company!

I've been a loyal customer of Voodoo Lab since 2001, when they were Digital Music Corp. Along with the HEX, I also own and use Ground Control Pro, GCX, and System Mix Plus. HEX-for pedals going into the front of the amp. GCX-for effects in the loop as well as switching for the amp (Mesa/Boogie Mark V). Fast switching, small footprint, and enough routing options to accommodate most any system. The number one reason to get this (or any Voodoo Lab product) is the top-notch service. Mesa-Boogie, Eventide, and Sweetwater rank up there as well, but VL goes above and beyond. Thank you Voodoo Lab and Sweetwater!!

Great for your pedal board

The Hex gave me the ability to have individual loops using analog pedals so I didn't lose the tone I want. Because of Hex I am able to change the channel on my amp and the combination of pedals in the push of single button using my Voodoo Lab Commander pedal.

I needed a small and reliable switcher for a handful of pedals and the HEX is the perfect solution for me. The new HEX rules!

After years of using the larger Axess GXr4 (still a great product) on my main big board, I was excited to see that Voodoo Lab was making a smaller loop switcher with 6 loops instead of 4. Mine works fabulously. I love the fact that I can manually trigger the loops when I'm setting up patches (most switchers can't do that), which saves time. There is PLENTY of room for cabling on the back panel of the unit - it should accommodate any normal-sized connector you wish to use, I think. I don't ever use pancake connectors on a pedal board, personally - I've had too many problems with the screws coming loose over the years. Anyway, the HEX rules! Great stuff, great product!
