Hands down favorite 7 string set
If these were discontinued, I'd be bummed. I've used all the name brands, sure they get the job done (some better than others), but these LaBella's are exceptional. This is just my humble opinion, but to me, these strings absolutely stand out from the crowd. Great tone, feel, and longevity.
La Bella HRS
Big fan of these. I have to give props to La Bella for paying attention to the needs of drop tuning. Compared to the other main companies, La Bella really thicken up the lowest-tuned string relative to the other 6 strings, which provides even tension across the range and helps a lot if you're using Drop A, Ab, G, etc. or even if you're just a heavy hitter in a standard tuning. … read more I'm not a big stickler on strings as long as the gauges are right, personally. I've been playing for 10 years and I've never felt or heard that huge of a difference between companies or types of string; never an "I can't stand these strings" scenario. So tonally, they're perfectly satisfactory for me. I've been using them for the past couple months and they don't sound dead to me, nor have I had any breaks (and I break a lot on all instruments I play haha) Plus, the price is hard to beat. I can't imagine going for another set of strings for my needs at this point in time.
You get what you pay for
These strings were awful. I tried them on a whim and it was a huge mistake. The low (G# string for me) went completely dead after just one practice with the band, losing all of it's tone. I ended up spending a little more for the D'Addario NYXL1164 Nickel Wound Electric Strings and there is not even a comparison with how much better they are. They do cost more, but I can literally… read more have a set on for 3+ months and they don't lose any tonal quality. I'm sure there are cheaper strings that work alright, but stay away from these.
Solid Strings
Ordered these strings a while back, and I have to say they're some of the most solid strings I've owned. Super stable, bright sounding, smooth feeling strings. I love how they have a thicker string for the low 7 and normal tension strings for the first 6 so When I play in drop A its a balanced feel on all strings. The low string isn't floppy and the other strings have good tension… read more unlike most other sets for 7 strings. I definitely plan on getting more of these
La Bellas
Very, very nice strings. Great for drop B and A tunings, the sound they put off is amazing. These fit perfectly for my Schecter Damien 7. Just buy it!
