Nice light bass but poor build quality

Mark Turner

I bought this bass because it's one of the lightest mass market basses I could find. I also wanted the Nordstrand pups, because the Barts on the EHB1000 series are too dark for my taste. On arrival I was sorely disappointed to find that the knobs were loose and misaligned, the neck was not set properly in the body pocket, and it buzzed all over the fretboard. I fixed the knobs myself, read more but gave up on the neck adjustment and took it to a luthier. He got the neck seated properly, adjusted the truss rod, and filed a few frets down.It now plays well, and I'm generally happy with it. But still disappointed at the substandard quality from a brand that I have always thought of as high quality. If this was a $ bass, I would not expect much. But for $, I expect professional build quality. It should be solid and playable out of the box, and I shouldn't have to spend $ to get it set up properly.

EHB1500

I purchased the the less expensive EHB1000 about a year ago and its been the nicest bass I've owned. Light, comfortable, super fast neck, and sounds great. I've been drooling over the finish on the EHB1500 ever since. Everybody needs more than one bass right? I had to have it. First, it's even lighter than the 1000 but still feels solid and well put together. Woods feel nice read more and it sounds great. I'm still figuring out the Nordstrand pickups, they're definitely louder. The only small issue which is the same EHB1000 is those "luminescent" side dot inlays. They're not luminescent at all. I'm extremely happy with the EHB1500 and shoutout to the excellent customer service at Sweetwater.

Versatile bass!

I went into check out some basses I had interest in. While waiting for someone to bring out a bass I was messing around with some of the basses in the bass room at Sweetwater. This bass caught my eye right away(even though I'm not a huge Ibanez fan). Picked it up & started noodling with it. Long story short I ended up buying it. It's soooo lightweight & you can come up with just read more about any tones with the active setup it has! The fretboard is sooo dang smooth making it seemless to play on. I definitely recommend this to anyone who plays multiple genres of music!

I had been waiting for this bass to become available and on a chance look up found it here at Sweetwater. The bass is super lightweight with an amazing tone. Tuning it up and the very small adjustments that I made to the action (because I am very picky) were easy to accomplish. The finish is perfect and with the built in electronics I can scuplt multiple tones. I worked with read more Steven. who was quick to contact me shortly after I placed the order. The bass arrived very quickly and was packaged with care. I am very happy with my experience through Sweetwater and beyond happy with this bass.

This Bass rocks!

Tyler Scultz was my rep and he was patient throughout the process of buying. To start I placed my order March 12th right before all the lockdowns. It was a pre-order. I knew it was not going to be here fast as it wasn't it yet. And then the pandemic happened. I was nervous about how long it would take and was inpatient, however Tyler kept me up to date. There bass! Super solid read more with killer tone. Those Nordstrand pickups are amazing, growl when you dig in and clean when you don't. The frets are perfect, the finish is awesome, the woods are gorgeous, and it plays like a dream. Great balance. I highly recommend this bass or any in the series for anyone looking for a great bass that's not a Precision or a Jazz but somewhere in-between
