Absolutely Great Bass

Tom McFadden

I have owned a lot of basses, many which were fairly high-end, but I was never quite satisfied with something about them whether it was the sound or the playability. Having owned and played this one for a few months now I can say that this is exactly the sound I have been looking for and the playability that has always been elusive. It is very comfortable and easy to play well and read more the multi-scale for me took zero time to get used to. Every time I play it I am amazed at how great it plays and I'm sure some of it has to do with how well it is setup as the action is low and effortless. I love the Stratocaster-style jack as a bonus and the bridge and rest of the hardware is top notch. It is also the lightest bass I have ever owned which will be great in long stand-up gigs. I would recommend this bass in a heartbeat.

SRMS800 - Great value for a modern bass!

If you are the slightest bit curious about multi-scale instruments with the ergonomically slanted frets...do yourself a favor and give this bass a try, you won't regret it. Sweetwater set up mine, with a new graphite nut and tuned down to C Standard -- I am absolutely loving this thing!

BEST BASS I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!

I absolutely LOVE this bass!!! Nicest instrument i have ever owned. The neck feels amazing. Really smooth with no gloss type finish on it. I can move up and down the neck with ease and speed. The finish on the body is gorgeous as well, and that panga panga fretboard looks and feels amazing. When i picked out this bass i didnt really care about the multi-scale aspect, i was indifferent read more to it, but after playing it, idk if i could ever go back to a normal scale. The multi-scale adds tightness and balance in tone and feel to every string. The electronics sound amazing too. So much clarity and detail in ever nuance of my playing. I love how its passive pickups with an active preamp that you can bypass. So much tonal territory this beast offers. From mellow motown type thumps to aggressive snappy attacks and everything in between. The preamp is really quiet when it comes to noise even when dialed all the way up on whatever frequency band, and every position on any knob is very usable. I am more than happy with this beauty, and if u are on the fence with getting this bass then look no further, u will not be disappointed. For me, this bass is the endgame of my bass journey. I dont need any other bass. And huge thanks to Sweetwater and Clint Bransteter. I reserved this bass almost 2 months in advanced before it came back in stock, and when it did come back in stock they were able to hold it for me for another 2 weeks until i could afford it. Sweetwater is the best and has the best customer service ever!

This bass played perfectly right out of the box. I had Sweetwater do a Pro-set up and install a "bone" nut. M. Vela did a fantastic job and I am more than impressed. Thank you Keith and Mr. Vela.

If you're considering investing a grand in a bass, be aware that this one's out there. It's gorgeous in person and sounds like piano bass. I've only used it at one jam session yet, but it's blown me away. The fanned frets are easy to get used to and feel natural to play, plus the Barts rawk!!Definitely a winner in my book. Five stars.
