This guitar is a beauty. Just based on looks alone she is HAWT! But looks aside, once I received the guitar and began playing just the very nature of having the extended range helped me to experiment with sounds, tones, and techniques I've only just begun to use. The ease of playability inspired me TO PLAY. A great value and another HOME RUN from Ibanez. Keep socking 'em out read more of the park y'sll!!!

Straight MADNESS

I play on the bit heavier side of Rock music. I was looking into 7 strings after playing my buddy's Ibanez Prestige and falling in love with it. I didn't want to wait and save up for something I wasn't too sure about (because all ive ever owned were 6 string guitars) so I found this beast. The maple neck, the beautiful metallic finish and the confortabilty. Once I plugged it in read more to my Orange OR15 I was BLOWN AWAY by the sound.... It doesn't look like much, a bit stripped down (which I like) but you can easily get addicted to 7 strings from purchasing this one as your first. And if your a total tone snob you can always put in some Bareknuckle pickups in this and make it sound like a $1k Ibanez. Overall great guitar for the price. Can't beat it

Great neck, excellent pickups

I love my Ibanez GRG7221M 7-string. The maple fingerboard is comfortable and responsive, and the pickups sound great clean or overdriven. This is my first 7-string guitar, and I'm excited to explore its possibilities. I'm a guitar teacher and gigging musician for 25+ years. I've received several compliments about the look and sound of the guitar. I've always been a fan of the read more flatter, wider Ibanez neck design, and the metallic blue color of this guitar, coupled with the maple neck is a real standout. I would recommend purchasing this guitar from Sweetwater and my excellent sales rep, Josh Gumbert.

Excellent action and sound

I recently purchased this guitar to teach some of my students who want to work on 7-string stuff. It is my first 7-string guitar, and I could not be happier! The neck is Ibanez quality in an affordable package. Slim profile, good-feeling wood, with ease of playability. I have come to expect great necks from Ibanez. I own three Ibanez guitars, and I recently gave a fourth one read more to a student. Their neck is just a comfortable, playable neck. This guitar, at under 200 dollars, is worth the money. The Ibanez Infinity-R pickups are good-sounding, yielding a nice strat-like tone when clean, and responsive when overdriven. Give the bridge pickup some juice, and it will respond! I would even call it "nasty", or "dirty, dirty". If you are looking at a 7-string to try something new or different, this is an excellent first choice. The price is right, the guitar is solid, and Sweetwater's customer service and support are second to none. Thanks, Bob Chapin and Mandy Kawa for taking the time to check in with me on purchases, and for always answering all my questions like real pros!
