Needs some mods
OK! First off, the guitar plays as nice as anything I've ever played on before. It is smoooooth to play, the ebony fret board is flawless, the frets are basically perfect, it is SO light, it resonates well, the 27in scale is fantastic for lower tuning and really feels good to play on. The higher frets are a lot more precise at that scale length, it is just going to tax dexterity… read more a bit with larger chords. I'm totally in love with this, and I have guitars that cost hundreds more than this does. Why it gets a slightly lower rating? #1 the plastic nut for a 900 dollar guitar is silly, I had the great sweetwater guys swap that out and set up the guitar before it shipped. #2 The pickups sound decent through plugins, but on a real amp they're just way too muddy so those are getting swapped for better( I tune to drop A so it's not that low). #3 This is nit picky, but the Hipshot IBBY bridge is just way way nicer than the Gibraltar, and it's made of solid brass and will add a lot to the tone and sustain, so that'll get swapped with the pickups. So all in, some people will be fine with it stock, I think it could be much better stock at 900 dollars. BUT, after modding it because I'm bored and... covid... This is an absolutely sick guitar to play honestly.
