Lovely instrument w/ a wonderful mellow tone

This guitar sounds well. It's one that plays bigger than it is but you can still tell it's not a full size. Wonderful sound tho. While a lot of that warmth is attributed to the wood, which is a bit puzzling to be called Mahogany when the wood is actually Sapele not even a direct cousin to MH but still of the same primary genus. I guess that is all that matters. Anyway, mine came read more with two bridge rests and the one in the bag will lower the action even more making it a real easy player. I find it difficult to play beyond the second fret with a capo but I have basketball palming hands and bought it for my neice to learn on. I do play it much more than I expected to when I bought it and it changed my opinion of HPL forever. In fact it is solid wood guitars for me from now on. I'll be ordering another all solid wood acoustic soon from Ibanez and James here in one of the full size models. I'm leaning toward the PF54 and installing some Grover tuners, a bone bridge rest and nut and more but I may get one a step up or two from that I have not decided. In the mean time I'm enjoying my other purchases from SW.

My first buying experience with Sweetwater was a great success! I was skeptical, but had an opportunity to purchase a "first guitar" for my nephew. I wasn't spending much money so I decided to try Sweetwater! Score! Yes...it's a $130 guitar, and it sounds like one, but it's well built, tuned right up, and is still in tune after banging away for several hours! The packaging was good read more and the guitar was in perfect shape! I called my Sweetwater rep, Nick, and we chatted about guitars in general for a while...GREAT customer service! He treated me like I had just bought a $5000 Gibson or something! Nice job Sweetwater!

Great guitar

Plays and sounds great. I was unsure about the controls in the sound hole, but it's growing on me. The location of the tuner is perfect.

My students guitar

I ordered this guitar for one of my students and not only do I love it but he does as well. I had told them about Sweetwater and the 3/4 Ibanez guitar that you sell and they asked me if I minded ordering it for them since I knew which one I was telling them about. I said no problem and I called and ordered it for them. They were really pleased when they came to pick it up and like read more I said so was I. So thanks again for helping me make my student and his parents very happy with their purchase. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone who has a young student who wants to or is taking guitar lessons and wants a very nice guitar that is 3/4 size and is not only tunable but the action is very nice as well.

Best for the buck!

I needed a guitar to take and play in my car while I write. This small size allows me to do that. Compared to my friend's Yamaha JR1, this guitar's scale length is 1.5" longer, so the cramped fret board is a little less of a shock to my fingers coming from a full size. As a bonus I wasn't expecting, the guitar comes with a gig bag, spare bridge pin, truss rod wrench and a spare read more saddle (?!). It's sound is what you expect for a 3/4 size guitar - not great but serves the purpose. If you don't want to spend $330 for a Baby Taylor or Little Martin (which I didn't, banging around with this thing in my car, on the road, in the sun), this Ibanez presents an excellent value!
