Exceptional Quality

Barry

I received this a week ago and have been able to do 2 gigs with it. It is my first seven string, and the build quality of this guitar made it a very easy transition. The neck is very comfortably thin, and the flat fretboard makes fast riffs and arpeggios a joy to play. The satin finish on the body is really jaw dropping. The grooves of the ash are presented perfectly through the read more finish, and it looks incredible in light (though I will say, my guitar body in particular has a lot of natural grooves that make it resemble a tiger pattern of sorts). The locking tuners are great, as is the bridge. The pickups are probably the least of everything in the guitar quality wise, but that is not a knock. I haven't found them to be bad or even meh, they just aren't your favorite EMGs or other pickups is all. For most people I think this would be a great 7 string to own.

Worth every penny

I bought this guitar 6 months ago now and it is absolutely worth every penny! Before I bought it I thought I would have to do a pickup swap but ended up liking the Dimarzio pickups that came with it so it's still a stock guitar. Chris Lewis hooked up the shipping and I had it in 3 days, Sweetwater is my favorite place for online gear. Sweetwater will always be my 1 choice for read more gear best customer service!

First things first. Big thanks to Dave Brow and his fantastic service. He's a great to deal with and always takes care of me. Equally big thanks to Jake Eastridge who set up my guitar. It came to me ready to play. Fantastic setup. The guitar is amazing. It looks better than its pictures on the sight in person. The playability is spot on. Reverse head stock keeps that low B string read more nice and tight. Easily can gallop pick with no flop. I play standard tunning with a 10-56 set and the tension is great. Easy access up and down the neck. The sound is great. This is not a one trick pony. This guitar a multitude of tones not just metal. The only thing is the pickups wich is totally personal preference in my view are really no better than a decent pair of stock pickups. The fusions are smooth and real even but no real character of any kind. The distortion is decent but lack in the dynamics im looking for. So ill be replacing those with preferred dimarzios. The only other thing is this is not a guitar for short fingers or small hands. I have very long hands so its wonderful for me but i could see it being difficult for someone with small hands. Over all this guitar is kick***!

This RG is my first Ibanez but it wont be my last. Looks so much better in your hands and will never let you down ! The electronics are first class , the tremolo is first class , and man this neck is off the charts !! Drop Engineer Mason a line and see for yourself. I promise you cant go wrong with this rig !!
