Sounds extremely flubby and overly bass boosted out of the box. You can do something about this with the 3-band EQ only available from the software. The problem is blackstar *requires* you to make an account which asks for all kinds of personal info + product registration in order to download. Even then I had trouble getting the software working. The user experience with the software… read more is completely unacceptable. To this day it's just a practice amp for me and I feel the sound is wonky at times. In retrospect, I should've bought something else. Not having 3-band EQ on the device isn't acceptable. Treating your customers like data-mines also isn't acceptable.
Good unless you want to use headphones

The amp performs as advertised, except the amp outputs loud white noise into any headphones you plug into it. Tried with 3 pairs of headphones (that I tested on other devices with no problems) and the same issue occurred in both the first one of these I purchased and the replacement I got when I sent it back. I was able to hear my guitar over the white noise but I had to turn up… read more the volume quite a bit. Don't purchase if you plan on using with headphones.
