A different take
Pros: Superior form factor. If all pedals were this size with top mounted I/O my pedalboard would be 30% smaller. (Or I'd have more pedals on it). I wanted a 'squishy' comp. for Nashville country stuff, this is that type of circuit - NOT subtle like an optical or some other types, but it can be tamed with a very low 'Mix' amount. The EQ adds an obvious level of versatility. … read more But... Cons: With the EQ set flat your core tone is altered a fair amount and it is more dull. I did extensive A/B comparisons against a few of the many compressors I already have. This one had idle white noise that is slightly higher than average. (I'm very picky about noise floor). I used the EQ to reduce rather than boost frequencies when comparing to match them as much as possible EQ wise with the best noise floor possible but still, never better than average. This is an expensive pedal for what it is (but I already knew that going in).
Too much squash
This pedal has a cool concept but poorly executed. The mix knob is very sensitive and adds too much squash in the compression dept. The EQ section is nice but nothing special that will make you replace your current eq pedal for this.
An Always On Pedal
This pedal does what I love. It mixes the clean signal with as much compression as one could want. I use the volume to push the amp a little harder and it is great for that. The 6 slider EQ is tuned for guitar frequencies and is capable in producing many different tones. Check one out!
