Awesome Guitar!!!
I bought this guitar a few years ago and was very pleased with it. This was my first 7 seven string and first guitar that has a roasted maple neck. Playability is smooth! I did change out the nut and the pick ups. I put in a set of Misha Mansoor's "Bareknucke Ragnaroks" in it and she growls even more!
Not worth it.
I wanted to like this guitar. I've played guitar for ages but this was my first 7 string and after a ton of research I had high hopes and was very disappointed. It's a one trick pony at best. Clean tones were dull and lifeless and not much better distorted... It will chug and if that's all you want to do, have at it. Coil tap was ineffective. It came nicely set up but was still… read more the most uncomfortable guitar to play I've ever experienced. Far better can be had for less $$. Sweetwater was an amazing experience as usual. Like I said the guitar was pristine and nicely set up and the return process was smooth sailing.
Amazing Guitar, especially for the price!!
This is my second Misha Mansoor Pro Series HT7 (I bought the orange one about a year ago), and I can't say enough good things about this guitar. I was in the market for another 7 string guitar for my band, and it was an easy choice. Especially for the price. The only thing I would recommend doing is changing out the pickups with some Ragnaroks or Juggernauts. The stock pickups aren't… read more bad by any means but throwing in some ragnaroks in there will definitely give you that "Periphery" tone if that's what you're going for.
Fantastic guitar!
Been wanting a 7 string for quite some time, so I did some research and landed on this bad boy. I have always loved Jackson guitars and miss my 6 string dinky I used to have. The neck feels fantastic, the cut out for your fretting hand is more than adequate and allows for reaching the higher frets. I'm currently playing it through the Nolly Neural DSP plugin in and it sounds NASTY!… read more Super crispy and clear! It also sounds very good on clean channels as well. The sustain is really good and notes hold out like a dream! Can't wait to start recording some tunes with this thing! It has definitely re-sparked my passion for playing guitar
