Whole Lotta Bass For The Buck

Jackson really did their homework on this one. Bought this 6 months ago. Pretty much what you'd get if you put a Fender PB&J pickup set in a Rickenbacker. Structurally this thing rings like a bell, and the electronics deliver that resonance to the amp. Plays like butter and plays in tune all the way up the neck. Neck has a squished D profile, and fretboard radius is flatter read more than standard Fender. Body is smaller and lighter than a Fender. The people who made it must really care because there's real craftsmanship here. Only hickey I could find was a slight thick spot in the finish on the back of the neck. Batteries last a long time. The vintage style pickup cover does nothing but get in the way-took it off about 5 minutes after I played it the first time (same as with old style Fender basses). Stap buttons are oversized-once you get a strap on, it won't be coming off. Easier to put the strap on by taking off the buttons and installing from the bottom, then screwing buttons back on. Sonically, all of the classic bass sounds are there. Controls take a little time to learn to use, but there are a lot of sounds here.

The Major Rager On The 4-String MondayFriday'er

My fiancé bought this here Absinthe Frost Green thing and I must say, it is an awesome instrument. I'm buying the black one as soon as they're back in stock. Super fast neck, hot, punchy pick-ups, solid tuners and nice hardware all around. Well-balanced form and the details give it a rad old-school Rickenbacker vibe. If Cliff were still with us in a physical body, I think he read more would be into this one. A great bass for the price.

Can't freakin wait man!!!
